Start the A Rat Problem Quest in Oblivion Remastered

To begin, you must visit the Fighters Guild and speak with Azzan to receive the contract for the quest. When you approach him, he will tell you about Arvena Thelas and the rat problem she is dealing with.
Next, head to Anvil to visit Arvena’s house and start a dialogue with her. To your surprise, it’s not the rats that are bothering her, but the fact that something is killing them. Go down to her basement, and you will find a starving mountain lion. Eliminate the lion, then return to Arvena and inform her of your discovery.
Meet Pinarus Inventius and Hunting Mountain Lions
Arvena will now ask you to meet Pinarus Inventius, a hunter. You will find him just outside Anvil’s main gate near the Horse Whisperer Stable. When you approach and tell him about the mountain lions, he will ask you to go hunting with him.
Follow him into the wild. After a short distance, you will encounter four mountain lions. Help Pinarus eliminate them. Once you’re done, he will ask you to inform Arvena that the area is now clear of mountain lions. However, when you return to her, she will report another mountain lion in the basement. Eliminate it, then speak with Arvena again.
Conclude the A Rat Problem Quest in Oblivion Remastered

The next objective is to investigate her neighbor, Quill-Weave. At night, go to the Anvil Dock Gate and hide near a tree. Wait until night to catch Quill-Weave red-handed near Arvena’s house. Upon talking to her, she will confess that she is not luring mountain lions into the basement—she only wants to scare off the rats. Return to Arvena’s house, where you will have two choices:
- Turn Quill-Weave in
- Save her
It is recommended to spare her, as doing so will increase your Acrobatics skills. To conclude the quest, return to Azzan, and he will promote you to Apprentice level in the Fighters Guild.
That’s all about the A Rat Problem quest in Oblivion Remastered.
