This guide will explain how to complete Finding the Forge in Path of Exile 2 (PoE2) and what rewards you can get upon completion.
Finding the Forge in Path of Exile 2 is one of the early side quests that you can take in the game. The goal is to help Renly retrieve a forgotten toolkit that he left behind in Ogham Village. It is essentially a basic fetch quest that also unlocks access to a Proper Forge.
This side quest is straightforward and easy to complete. Considering how fetch quests are a norm in most RPG games, a lot of players may already be familiar with how it operates. It also won’t take up much of your time, and the reward is necessary for crafting resources in the game.

You will have to progress further into the story to unlock the side quest. However, it won’t be too long until you encounter the NPC who will give you this quest.
How To Start Finding the Forge Quest
The quest becomes available as you progress through the Secrets in the Dark questline, specifically near its final stages. Simply use the Rune Spikes, and the quest will start with your first task: to find Renly in the Clearfell Encampment.
Talk to Renly and Travel to Ogham Village
Upon speaking to Renly, he will ask you to find his smithing tools in Ogham Village. The area is swarming with enemies, so make sure you are prepared to fight them.
Find Renly’s Tools in His Workshop
Once inside Ogham Village, you will need to walk around the village to find Renly’s Workshop. There is a chance an elite enemy might spawn in the area. You will need to fight them without alerting the enemies outside the workshop. Once you find the tools, head back to Renly.
Bring Back Smithing Tools to Renly
Once you clear the workshop of enemies, grab the Smithing Tools and head back to Clearfell Encampment. Find Renly and give his tools back to complete the quest and claim the reward.
Finding the Forge Quest Rewards
After completing the Finding the Forge side quest in Path of Exile 2, you gain access to a Proper Forge. This is important for character building as it is where you can start salvaging equipment and crafting in-game resources.
