It is interesting to see when a game like Dragon Quest 3 Remake lets you control all party members in the game. We bet you are a little confused right now because the game doesn’t give you a full-fledged tutorial on this.

Despite the game’s lack of focus on this mechanic, you are free to take each of your companions’ actions into your hands. By our understanding, you may have to make these changes every time you enter combat, but feel free to explore it further.

It is pretty simple in theory. All you have to do is select the Tactics option in the combat menu whenever you encounter an enemy. This will open further options for you to control your party members.

Control All Party Members Using This Simple Change

When the combat menu shows three options: Fight, Tactics, and Flee, you have to choose the middle one. This will further open up a list of all the party members who will be fighting alongside you.

By default, all the NPC members will be set to Fight Wisely. This is the only thing that you can change. Here are the options that you can do:

  • Show No Mercy: Select this to shift all the focus to attack.
  • Fight Wisely: The default approach lets the NPC balance between attack and defense during your fights.
  • Focus on Healing: Whoever is assigned this approach will focus on healing other party members rather than attacking or actively defending.
  • Don’t Use MP: You can conserve your MP using this approach and it won’t allow you to use magic.
  • Watch My Back: This will allow your NPC friends to heal and buff you whenever required.
  • Follow Orders: If you wish to gain complete control over your party members, this option is the best.

Select the All option in the Tactics menu to apply the changes to everybody in the party. Now, select your desired approach (we suggest the last one), and you will gain control over everybody.
