Jeff’s Ultimate is very annoying in Marvel Rivals, and here are some ways to effectively counter it and prevent an embarrassing death.
Marvel Rivals has a full roster of iconic heroes and villains from the entire comic-verse. Most characters in the game are very lore-accurate, with their abilities, playstyle, and even interactions reflecting the same. One particularly adorable land shark, Jeff, is an absolute menace with his ultimate, which is incredibly difficult to counter.
That said, there are some ways to completely counter Jeff’s ultimate in Marvel Rivals. In this article, we will explain how you can dodge Jeff’s ultimate, and potentially save your team from an embarrassing death.
Ways To Counter Jeff’s Ultimate in Marvel Rivals
There are two ways to hard-counter Jeff’s ultimate in Marvel Rivals:
- Copying Jeff as Loki and using the same ultimate.
- Cloak’s Dark Teleportation.
Here is a detailed explanation of how each of the counters works:
1) Copying Jeff as Loki
When Jeff uses his ultimate, if you are playing as Loki, you can copy him and immediately pop his ultimate. Then, follow the other Jeff and position your swallowing circle in a manner that exactly half of it is on the outside of the map. The moment the opposing Jeff throws your teammates out, you can swallow them and bring them back to safety. You will also end up catching the other Jeff, and you can happily throw him out of the map as payback.
This is one of the best counters to Jeff’s ultimate in Marvel Rivals, although it relies on saving your ultimate as Loki specifically for this purpose.

2) Cloak’s Dark Teleportation
Cloak & Dagger is one of the best strategists in Marvel Rivals, and they are undoubtedly the best counter to Jeff’s ultimate. Simply put, Cloak’s Dark Teleportation can completely dodge Jeff’s ultimate. Dark Teleportation creates an entire area where all your teammates become invisible. As an extension, if your teammates are inside this dark dimension, Jeff cannot catch them in his ultimate as well.
Given that this is a mere ability that you can spam, you can outright annoy Jeff players by dodging and countering their ultimate. However, you also need to have an acute reaction time to execute this properly. You need to swap to Cloak immediately once you hear Jeff’s audio cue of “nom nom nom” and be ready to use Dark Teleportation the moment his water-circle appears under you.
