In this guide, we shall go over how to craft the Repair Tool in The Forest so you can keep your base healthy.
The wilds in The Forest are no safe place, as you soon realize moments after crash landing on the island. On this island, you are a footnote in the food chain, with dangerous cannibals constantly stalking and hunting you. You find shelter by building a base, a meek fortress to guard you against the predators. They attack, and you fend them off, living to fight another day. But now your base is damaged, and it needs to be repaired. This is where The Forest’s Repair Tool comes in handy.
Added in patch V0.53, the Repair Tool helps you repair the damaged walls of your base, fortifying it for the next inevitable attack from the cannibals. How To Craft the Repair Tool
The Repair Tool isn’t found in the overworld and instead must be crafted using ingredients. You require the following ingredients to craft the Repair Tool in The Forest:
- 2x Stick
- 1x Rock
- 2x Cloth
- 10x Sap
Crafting the Repair Tool
The crafting ingredients required to make the Repair Tool are scattered around the game’s map. The first of these, the Stick, is easily found. You can get 2x Stick by chopping down any tree you come across. Simply approach the tree with your axe in hand and press LMB to chop the tree and obtain the ingredient. Each tree gives you about 2x to 4x Sticks upon being cut. The Sap, too, is found in trees. Approach a tree and hit it with your axe to collect the Sap. Alternatively, you can use a Sap Collector and place it on a tree to collect Sap over time.
Rocks are easy to find and are perhaps the most abundant resource in the game. They are all across the floor in the forests and near the beaches. You should have no trouble finding these. Cloth is found by exploring the caves and villages in the game. You can also try your luck by checking out the various boats anchored on the shores. Suitcases found in the caves, too, are a good source for obtaining the item.
Once you have acquired all the ingredients, head to your inventory by pressing ‘I.’ Select the required ingredients by pressing RMB and placing them on the crafting mat. Once all the items are on the mat, press RMB to combine them and craft the Repair Tool.
