Lego Fortnite Odyssey mixes the best of both Fortnite and Lego, throwing you into a vibrant world filled with resources you have to use to build. As colorful as the world is, it can be a little difficult to find some resources, particularly the Brute Scales. These Brute Scales are dropped by large Brutes that roam the lands, and boy are they tough to beat.
The Brutes are large creatures that are deceptively fast and hit like trucks. They may also prove near impossible to defeat if you don’t approach the fight with some delicacy and strategy. How To Defeat Brutes
Acquire the Right Weapon
The first thing you should do while approaching a Brute in Lego Fortnite Odyssey is, well, to not approach it. These creatures are hulking behemoths and fighting in close range is perhaps not the best way to approach the fight. Instead, take a fight from a distance using the Recurve Crossbow. You will require the following items to craft the Recurve Crossbow:
- Common Recurve Crossbow: 5x Wooden Rods and 1x Cord.
- Uncommon Recurve Crossbow: 8x Knotroot Rods and 1x Drawstring.
- Rare Recurve Crossbow: 8x Flexwood Rods and 1x Drawstring.
- Epic Recurve Crossbow: 8x Frostpine Rods, 1x Drawstring and 3x Iron Bars.
We recommend aiming for the latter two, acquiring the ingredients and then crafting the weapon at the Crafting Bench.
Bring a Villager To Battle
Now you have your Recurve Crossbow, but don’t rush into battle just yet. The next step is to recruit a villager. To recruit a villager, you need to build a Village Square, done so by using 10x Wood and 10x Granite. Once you have villagers at your base, follow the steps below:
- Approach a villager and talk to them.
- Follow through the conversation and click on the ‘Let’s Talk Jobs’ option at the very end.
- Next, click on ‘Let’s Explore.’ The villager will now follow you wherever you go, even in battle.
- Talk to the villager again, and you can Gift them a weapon from your inventory to make them stronger.
With the Recurve Bow on your hip and the villager at your side, head back and take on the Brute. You can use the Recurve Bow to deal damage from a distance while your buddy villager will be the decoy and distract the creature. Chip away at the creature’s HP from a distance to defeat the Brute.
