Battling Catherina can be an interesting experience for those of you who like to have sparring sessions with your allies. Your main objective is not to obliterate her from the Kingdom. Rather, this mechanic ties into her friendship with the Protagonist. This boss fight won’t take place unless she is already a follower because it is a rank-up event in her storyline. If you are preparing to face off against Catherina and need some tips, look no further.

You can expect to face your pink-suited ally thrice. These three battles have 22, 31, and 35 recommended Levels, respectively. All three times, she has to be on the Gauntlet Runner. The first fight unlocks when you are heading over to the Giant Sandworm’s Nest. You will gain access to the second when the party is headed to Port Brilehaven. Finally, the third one will take place when everybody is visiting the Forsaken Tower.

Your strategy for all three battles will remain the same.

Exploring the Weaknesses

Catherina can be a tough nut to crack. We bet you are glad that she is on your side! However, you still have to face off against her. So, you might as well learn about her strengths and weaknesses.

You will observe that she can block Ice skills completely. But, she is not invincible. Our fellow bounty hunter is vulnerable to Fire skills. That is her primary weakness. She is neutral to the rest, so experimentation is likely going to be futile.

You Will Need a Team to Defeat Her

The best training sessions are where you push your limits. Catherina will present a challenge even though the Protagonist has her outnumbered. So, you might as well go in prepared. First off, let the Protagonist be the Mage. Later on, this will transition to the Wizard Archetype. Strohl will start with the Warrior Archetype and become a Swordmaster in later battles.

Hulkenberg can be the Knight at first, which is her default Archetype. Later on, she can become a Magic Knight to extend further help. Brawler can be assigned to Heismay whenever he is available to fight on your party. If you take up the first battle immediately when it’s available, Heismay won’t be there. But, in the next fights, don’t forget to keep him with you.

Strategizing the Moves

Don’t forget to level up your Archetypes between these three battles to maintain the same pace and strength as Catherina. Don’t let her get too ahead of you. The Mage/Wizard in the party will capitalize on the Fire weakness, and the rest of the members will deal damage in other ways.

Use Hulkenberg to absorb all the damage that the Bounty Queen deals. Heal Hulkenberg or continue attacking Catherina. Your Fire magic can leave Catherina vulnerable. While she is down, inflict massive damage on her using Synthesis skills to increase the chances of your victory.

Repeat your strategies thrice, and you shall succeed in your objective of defeating the fierce warrior.
