The combat in Metaphor ReFantazio feels even more satisfying when you realize that you can put down a giant dragon like Malvirta Drako Eht. This Level 50 boss does not yield easily. So, we are here with a guide if you want to prepare for an assault against it.

Before heading in, note that this massive dragon doesn’t come alone but with a party member called Homo Margo, for emotional support. We say ‘support’ because it doesn’t do much except ride atop the mythical creature. It does have a skill, but we will explain it further down the road.

You and the dragon will become acquaintances during the Obtain Drakodios Quest inside the Dragon God Temple. This will take place during the Virga Island arc and is where Eupha also joins forces with you. She will also be extremely helpful in defeating our big flying friend today.

Dragons Are Tough

As is the tradition, we will first explore some weaknesses and strengths that Malvirta Drako Eht and Homo Margo display during the fight. You need to attack both targets separately to bag the victory. While the humanoid friend might sound easy to defeat, it has its own set of resistances which you need to pay attention to.

The winged boss is resistant to both Light and Dark skills. On the other hand, Homo Margo is resistant to Pierce, Slash, and Strike. He also blocks Light and Dark. However, while Drako doesn’t have any weaknesses, this is where his humanoid rider lacks. The latter is weak against Wind, and we will use that to our advantage.

Party Members, Assemble!

Starting with the Protagonist, you might want to assign them the role of a Magic Seeker to help exploit the Wind weakness. His main job would be to take down Homo Margo with Wind skills. Since Light and Dark won’t be of much use against the dragon, you can spare him for the rest of the fight. Use Eupha in the party with her default Summoner Archetype assigned. Synthesis skills like Summon Eagle Lion King will deal great Wind damage to the enemy.

Make Junah the Masked Dancer with the Seeker’s mask. Casting Wind and Support skills will be her primary objective. Lastly, Hulkenberg can be the Faker and help by debuffing the dragon before it uses any physical attacks.

Putting the Plan Together

When it comes to debuffing, let the Faker (Hulkenberg) use both Tarunda and Rakunda skills to focus on Malvirta Drako Eht’s offense and defense, respectively. Meanwhile, Eupha will be the primary aggro character in the party with her Summoner skills.

Homo Margo doesn’t deal any damage but can steal Eht’s HP to recover his own. So, prioritize taking him out to shift the focus to the main threat for the rest of the fight. Now, make sure to debuff your enemy to avoid receiving too much damage from its physical attacks like Tail Sweeps.

Deal Wind Skill damage to the flying creature because that’s your best source of attack from Eupha. Even Synthesis skills that we discussed earlier will work great in this regard.

We found this strategy effective but it may not be the best way to approach the situation in every scenario. So, feel free to take inspiration from this guide and innovate on your own!

Rewards Are on the Way

Once you defeat the boss in the Dragon Temple, you will complete a big part of the quest objective. Moreover, defeating the dragon and its rider will net you the following rewards:

  • EXP: 7875
  • A-EXP: 945
  • MAG: 4500
  • Reeve: 3500
