Metaphor Refantazio, the turn-based RPG, was released on October 11, 2024. Critics and players have highly praised the game since its release. The game’s success is further rewarded as it sold one million copies on the first day, breaking all the records held by the previous Persona titles.

Completing Bounties is one of the side objectives of the game, where the protagonist and his party hunt down dangerous enemies around The United Kingdom of Euchronia.

How to Unlock the ‘Man’s Not-So Best Friend Bounty’

You can sign up for these bounties by visiting the Recruiter Dispatcher at the Recruitment Centre. In your playthrough, the first Recruitment Centre you gain access to will be the Grand Trad Recruitment Centre at the Regalith Grand Cathedral. ‘Man’s Not-So Best Friend Bounty’ will be the first bounty you will get your hands on. The goal of the bounty is to slay the Maneater Manjula found in the Tradia Desert, South of Grand Trad.

If you pay 150 Reeve to the informant at Hushed Honeybee Inn, you will be provided with more details about Maneater Manjula including its weaknesses and strengths.

If you do not want to spend your Revee for bounty details, check below:

You’ve surely heard of that stretch of desert to the south of here… That’s Tradia Desert. It lies beyond the large gate. Most travellers and cargo arrive at Grand Trad after making their way through that desert. Consequently, there’s no shortage of people who have been attacked while travelling through it. They’re harassed on the journey by swarms of valmo and giant monstrous birds… The threats are too numerous to name, but the worst is the Maneater Manjula. Word is, not only does its breath burn like fire, it also spreads a foul poison. If you fight it, you should also be wary of its howl. In addition to being resistant to the heat, fire magic is ineffective against it. The blaze only invigorates it, so mind your tactics. Conversely, it’s quite susceptible to the cold, meaning ice magic is effective against it. You’d best remember that and prepare accordingly. That’s about all I know. Unless you want to end up as another set of bones getting bleached by the desert sun, you’d better know when to run.”

How to Find the Maneater Manjula In Metaphor Refantazio

Once you accept the Bounty offer from the Recruiter Dispatcher, make your way through the Tradia Desert, South of Grand Trad, to hunt the ‘Chimera’ Maneater Manjula. You don’t have any deadline to complete the bounty.

The Maneater Manjula will be unavailable at first when you reach the Tradia Desert. You need to summon the boss by defeating the packs of Hyeno. There will be three packs of Hyeno roaming in the area which will be marked on your map. Since they are only level 8, you can wipe them in the overworld combat without the need to engage in squad combat.

Once the last Hyeno is defeated, the Maneater Manjula will spawn and you will be taken to the boss combat after a small cutscene.

How to Beat the Maneater Manjula in Metaphor Refantazio

Use the Healer, Mage, and Brawler Archetype (Image Via: Sega)

As mentioned in the note, the Maneater Manjula uses Fire and Poison as primary attacks and enrages if hit with a Fire attack. On the other hand, it is weak to Ice and Strike. So prepare your team and set the archetype by including the Ice spells and strike damages. Make sure to have a Healer, Mage, and Brawler Archetype.

  • Use your Brawler to deal damages with the strikes, as it is one of its weaknesses. Also, use the melee attack of Healer to exploit the weakness of the boss.
  • Mage also plays an important role during your fight by dealing with ice spells and attacks such as Blitz, which is a major weakness for the Maneater Manjula.
  • Once you wear down half the health bar of Maneater Manjula, it attacks with the Poison Needle move, which inflicts Poison status. If untreated, it may lead to death. So make sure to cure or cleanse the Poison with Healer’s Patra spell or using any other cleansing items.

If you have followed the above-mentioned strategies, then defeating Maneater Manjula will turn out to be an easy task.

Once defeated, the Maneater Manjula drops Rusted Weapon, Bone Helm, and Rampager Tail along with some EXP. Turn in the Rampager Tail at the Recruitment Center to get 10,000 Reeve in return.
