Viper Napuatzi is one of the main bosses in Path of Exile 2. You can meet her during Act 3 of the game’s story quest. This boss does not drop any quest items that are crucial for story progression. However, you still need to defeat her in order to proceed.

She is regarded as one of the hardest bosses to defeat due to her confusing attack patterns and high damage output. This means perfect timing is crucial, or you won’t be able to survive the flurry of attacks thrown at you.

All You Need To Know on How To Beat Viper Napuatzi in Path of Exile 2

Viper Napuatzi’s arena is simple but challenging. You and your opponent are surrounded by soldiers with shields and spears. You can’t move past the shields, and they can also throw attacks at you. This forces you to be mindful of your surroundings while also dodging attacks from the boss. 

Before facing the boss, you need to stack up on Chaos resistance and remedies for Poison damage. The boss will be throwing a lot of poison and chaos damage at you, and dodging can be hard to perfect as these attacks are fast. 

Where To Find

By following the main story quest, you’ll eventually be given a chance to defeat Viper Napuatzi and her legion. They can be found at the end of the Utzaal area during the second part of Act 3 in Path of Exile 2. You have to defeat her to get past her army and proceed to progress through the story.

Boss Move Set

Viper Napuatzi has a unique mechanic as she has two attack modes. She starts off by attacking with her spear. However, she can also drop her spear on the ground to attack with wide AoE attacks that are hard to dodge. Make sure to keep an eye on when she switches attack patterns in the game.

The visual effects of the attacks can also be a bit overwhelming. In that case, try to focus on dodging first, and don’t force yourself to attack her when you’re not ready. 

Spear Mode

Attack	Description
Poison Spear	Viper Napuatzi charges up a spear that deals poison damage at you. This attack is a bit slow, so you can dodge easily by rolling to the side.
Lightning Spear	The boss charges up a spear that splits into four and deals damage to you. The spears can bounce back when they hit the shield walls, so be careful. Try and dodge sideways to avoid the spears.
Spear Slam	This is a melee combo, and Viper Napuatzi will slam her spear into the ground to deal poison damage in a small AoE. Wait for her jump slam before rolling to the side and avoid taking damage.
Poison Spit Dash	The boss will dash toward you and then move backward before spitting a horizontal line of poison on the ground. This attack can be predictable and deal less damage than her other attacks.
Spear Totem	Viper Napuatzi sticks a spear in the ground that deals AoE poison damage. Make sure to evade the toxic puddle. While her spear is on the ground, she will switch her attack pattern and will throw wide AoE attacks at you.

Unarmed Mode

Attack	Description
Legion Spear Thrust	Soldiers at the corners of the map will randomly attack with spears. They will emit a green glow if they start attacking. Make sure to time your dodge properly. One thing you can do is simply dodge roll at the time the spears appear, no matter where they are. You can ignore the boss if you find it too demanding to attack her while also dodging spears.
Meteor Shower	Viper Napuatzi channels a rain of Fire and Chaos meteors. There will be purple and red markers to determine where the attacks will land. Use this to know where the safe spots are and avoid damage.
Ground Slam	The boss jumps into the air and slams the ground to deal damage to a wide AoE. Make sure to dodge roll to evade this attack.
Snake Projectile	Summons slithering snakes that can bounce on the walls. This can be very confusing to evade, so be careful.
Poison Arrows	Throws a burst of poison projectiles at you before throwing multiple projectiles in a fan-shaped area. You can outrun the straight-arrow shots. When she is about to throw the arrows in a fan-shaped area, you can dodge roll forward.

Loot

Once you defeat Viper Napuatzi in Path of Exile, she drops randomized loots which can be very useful for building your character. She does not drop any essential quest items.
