Everything you need to know about Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds, how to obtain them, best farming methods, and more.

Armor Spheres are easily one of the most precious resources in Monster Hunter Wilds, especially in the endgame. However, despite their significance, the Armor Spheres are incredibly hard to come by, even after completing the toughest challenges the game has to offer. Furthermore, grinding for these resources is extremely difficult since it requires you to sacrifice monster parts, which can get tedious, especially for the Advanced Armor Spheres.
The Heavy Armor Spheres cost 5000 points, which translates to a ton of monster parts that you need to sacrifice. However, there are some really good ways to farm the Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds without having to waste a ton of monster parts.
Here’s everything you need to know about the Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds, how to easily obtain them, the best farming methods, and more.
How To Obtain Armor Spheres in Monster Hunter Wilds

The default way of obtaining the Armor Spheres is by completing main story quests and Side Quests. Do note that Side Quests are separate from Optional Quests. Although not every quest rewards you with Armor Spheres, most of the endgame High Rank ones do.
Another means of getting Armor Spheres is by smelting. Once you complete the main story quests in Oilwell Basin, you unlock the ability to smelt Ores and Armor Spheres. This is also the only way to get Armor Spheres in the endgame, besides Event quests and Tempered Monster Investigations. However, to smelt Armor Spheres, you’re required to sacrifice monster parts and Golden Tickets.
There are essentially five different tiers of Armor Spheres:
- Armor Sphere: 10 Points
- Armor Sphere+: 50 Points
- Advanced Armor Sphere: 200 Points
- Hard Armor Sphere: 1000 Points
- Heavy Armor Sphere: 5000 Points
As you progress through the Hunter Ranks, the cost of upgrading armor will increase, and so will the cost of smelting. However, there are a few ways to easily collect a ton of Armor Spheres, albeit in the endgame.
How To Farm Armor Spheres

The best method to farm armor spheres is to complete Tempered Investigations. While the Tempered Apex Investigations have the highest chance of rewarding you with Armor Spheres, it’s not a necessity. Furthermore, if you can get an Investigation with multiple targets (with at least one Tempered Monster), it has a very high chance of dropping Hard Armor Spheres and even Advanced Armor Spheres.
Completing these Investigations also rewards you with monster parts, which you can smelt to get even more Armor Spheres in return. Do keep an eye on the parts you choose to sacrifice. We highly recommend only sacrificing those that you don’t need for crafting.
]\Make sure not to use Monster Tickets or Hunter Symbols for smelting, as these will come in handy for endgame crafting and upgrades. There’s another cool method of smelting Armor Spheres, i.e., the newly added Tongue-Tied Event quest. This Event quest requires you to slay a Tempered Chatacabra but rewards you with a ton of Hard and Advanced Armor Spheres. Furthermore, you can repeat this quest multiple times, as long as it’s available. Unfortunately, the Event quest is available for only a limited amount of time.
