In this guide, we will tell you how to get the Mountain Chocobo in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, you unlock new and exciting regions as you progress through the chapters. Shortly after exploring the Grasslands Region at the start of the game, you will reach the Junon Region, a desert-like area filled with cliffs and mountains. Players will notice that they cannot summon Piko, the first Chocobo they obtained in the Grasslands Region. This is because each region features a unique Chocobo suited for that area.
In Junon, you must begin a side quest to obtain Belle, the Mountain Chocobo, which will allow you to traverse the region’s steep cliffs and rocky terrain. In this guide, we will provide a detailed guide on how and where to acquire the Mountain Chocobo, Belle.
Where To Find Belle?
Once you reach Chapter 4 and unlock the Junon Region, head to the Chocobo Ranch located near the southern bay area. At the ranch, talk to Gabe to start the “Stuck in a Rut” side quest. The great thing about this quest is that it can be started as soon as you step into Junon. The objective of this quest will require you to capture the Mountain Chocobo, Belle, which is required to traverse the steep walls and complete the mission.
After agreeing to help Gabe, a marker will appear on your map, located to the west of the ranch. Upon reaching the marked area, you’ll enter a stealth mini-game, similar to the one in the Grasslands Region. The goal is to hide from other Chocobos while navigating the area to reach Belle. Use the railways and switches scattered around to avoid detection. Stay close to the carts, as being spotted by any Chocobo will result in getting caught and alerting Belle.
Make sure to always carry rocks, as you will need them to activate switches and distract the other Chocobos. Once you have successfully maneuvered through the area, approach Belle from behind and capture it the same way you captured the previous Chocobo.
Using the Mountain Chocobo
After catching Belle, you can progress through the rest of the quest. You must use the Mountain Chocobo’s special ability to climb mountain walls and reach previously inaccessible areas. These special walls are marked with a running Chocobo symbol, making them easily recognizable.
From here, your objective is to reach Wainwright, located at the top of the mountains. This is only possible with the Mountain Chocobo’s climbing abilities. Once you reach Wainwright, you can proceed to complete the “Stuck in a Rut” side quest.
After completing the quest, Mountain Chocobos will be unlocked for use throughout your stay in the Junon Region. Take advantage of their unique climbing ability to explore special areas, uncover hidden treasures, and discover secrets scattered across the region.
