Coldbrim Hat
In Baldur’s Gate 3, the Coldbrim Hat is a piece of headgear specifically made for the spellcaster classes, and its bonuses reflect this. When you apply any other condition, once per turn, you can also inflict 2 turns of Encrusted with Frost. This effect gives enemies a disadvantage on dexterity saving throws, making them easier to hit with any attack. Also, this effect can stack by applying additional turns of this effect, and each turn, they must pass a constitution saving throw or will take cold damage.

How to Get Coldbrim Hat in Baldur’s Gate 3
Coldbrim Hat is in the locked chest on the second floor of Moonrise Towers in Balthazar’s Chambers, and you can get it during Act 2, Baldur’s Gate 3. First, progress until you reach Act 2 and ensure you are ready to head to Moonrise Towers and visit Last Light Inn before heading there. Moonrise towers are home to worshipers of the Absolute, and your choices there matter and are part of the main storyline.
Head to the Moonrise Towers
The Moonrise Towers are southwest of Shadow-Cursed Lands on the Act 2 map. Accessible only through a long stone bridge. Once you get there, a series of cutscenes will play, and what happens next will depend on your choices. You can pretend you are the worshiper of absolute (for now) and infiltrate the Towers and get the Coldbrim Hat in the meantime, or you can kill everyone.
Find Hidden Room in Balthazar’s Chambers
Regardless, go to the second floor; the stairs are behind the Kethrick throne in the throne room, the central part of the Moonrise towers. Upstairs, you must turn right and pass through the library to get to the Balthazar’s Chambers. Be careful because the room is filled with traps.
To get the Coldbrim Hat, you must open hidden doors behind one of the bookshelves on the west wall. Look around for a human heart. You will need it to open the hidden door. Next to the bookshelf is the Ancient Altar. Interact with it, and when the window appears, insert the heart. This will open the door to the hidden room.
Loot the Coldbrim Hat
Inside, you will find many interesting items and information and learn more about the famous necromancer, Balthazar, who can help you during Shadowheart’s Daughter of Darkness and Find Nightson quest. Loot the Coldbrim Hat from the Opulent chest next to the desk. To open it, you must pass a 14 DC Slight of Hand skill check.
