As you cruise through the world of Lego Fortnite, you find various resources, all of which can be used to craft useful weapons, tools, and utilities. Utilities, in particular, help you take simpler resources and use them to craft more complex items. The Metal Smelter is one of the best utilities in the game. It is used to smelt metals and turn them into new craftable resource slabs, which are used to make higher-tier equipment.
The Metal Smelter isn’t found anywhere in the world. It has to be crafted using materials. How To Make the Metal Smelter
Unlock the Recipe
To make the Metal Smelter, you first need to upgrade your Village to Level 9. Hitting Level 9 will unlock the Metal Smelter recipe. You will need the following materials to upgrade to that level:
- 15x Flexwood. This dry wood is in the Dry Valley biome.
- 15x Obsidian. These dark stone are in the Lava Caves.
- 10x Cut Amber. An ingredient refined from Rough Amber found in the Dry Valley biome.
Once you have the required materials, use them to upgrade your Village to Level 9 and unlock the Metal Smelter recipe.
Craft the Metal Smelter
Once the Metal Smelter recipe is unlocked, open your Utility menu and scroll down to the Metal Smelter. Here, you can see the Materials needed to craft the utility. You require the following ingredients to craft the Metal Smelter:
- 35x Granite Slab: You acquire Granite Slabs by placing Granite on the Stone Breaker. You find Granite in caves within the Grasslands region of the game.
- 3x Blast Core: You find Blast Cores within Lava Caves in the Dry Valley region of the game. This region is hot, so prepare ahead and carry a Cool-Headed Charm to keep yourself cool. Blast Cores are dropped by Blasters residing in these caves. These enemies explode when triggered, so hit the Blasters and run away before they explode. The enemies will drop the Blast Cores upon detonation.
With the ingredients in place, use your Utility menu to craft the Metal Smelter.
