To unlock the Chu-Bai Spear, take on the prisoner’s quest line in Chapter 3. After defeating the Kang-Jin Loong boss, you will be transported to a jail cell. Upon exiting the cell, you will come across a cell with a purple seal on the door.

You can talk to the prisoner NPC inside through the cell bars, but the interaction is extremely limited. To unlock the door to the prisoner’s cell, defeat Captain Lotus-Vision, one of the bosses featured in Chapter 3.

Captain Lotus-Vision is found near the Upper Pagoda Realm Keeper’s Shrine. After reaching the Keeper’s Shrine on the upper level of the Pagoda Realm, you can turn around from the shrine. Here, you will see a massive opening with figures praying to a stone figure.

This stone figure is Captain Lotus-Vision, and you need to defeat him to progress in the quest line. The fight is fairly simple as the boss doesn’t move around much. This gives you ample opportunities to dish out massive damage.

Once you’ve defeated Captain Lotus-Vision, collect the Spirit of Captain Lotus-Vision key item and head back to the prisoner NPC. The prisoner will ask you to find three more Captains and eliminate them. Additionally, if you have taken the steps required, you can unlock the Ashen Slumber Transformation Spell through this.

Captain Wise-Voice

Captain Wise-Voice is a mandatory boss in the game, so it’s impossible to miss him. He can be found near the Mani’s Wheel Keeper’s Shrine at the top of the Pagoda Realm. Enter the boss’ room to trigger a cutscene that introduces him.

The boss fight can be quite challenging as you have to constantly hit Captain Wise-Voice’s right foot. Upon dealing enough damage to his foot, he will get stunned. Now, go for his head to deal significantly more damage. Once you’ve defeated him, collect The Spirit of Captain Wise-Voice Key Item and move on.

Captain Kalpa-Wave

Much like Captain Wise-Voice, Captain Kalpa-Wave is also a necessary boss for the main questline and can be found near the Longevity Road Keeper’s Shrine. From the Shrine, move forward and follow the praying stone figures to reach a staircase. Climbing up the staircase, you will see a glowing red spot in the distance.

Getting close to the red spot triggers the Captain Kalpa-Wave boss fight. The boss is not too much of a challenge as most of his attacks are quite slow and telegraphed. He also takes a ton of damage, making the fight that much easier.

After defeating the boss, collect the Spirit of Captain Kalpa-Wave Key Item and move forward to the final step in the quest.

Captain Void-Illusion
