Phasmophobia sees you and a group of friends investigating haunted houses for information on the supernatural that resides within the walls. As is expected of any such bizarre scenario, things go awry quickly, and you and your friends must use the equipment at hand to deduce information and ways to survive. The good equipment in the game, however, comes at the cost of money.

You need money to keep your equipment up to par, but the game does very little to tell you how to make money, leaving you in the dark. To make matters worse, you start with $0, meaning all the good stuff that can make your task easier is locked behind money. If you happen to be eyeing some cool equipment and want to make money for it, our guide is here to help. In this guide, we shall go over how to make money in Phasmophobia.

As the in-game lore states, you and your team are investigating ghost hauntings and sightings in order to gather evidence, which can then be sold to ghost removal teams. This means the bulk of the money you earn in Phasmophobia is by selling the evidence you capture during investigations. In addition to this, you also earn money by completing contracts and claiming insurance.

So, to sum it up, there are three ways to make money in Phasmophobia:

  • Capture evidence in the form of pictures of ghost activities.
  • Completing optional objectives.
  • Claiming insurance in case you’re killed.

Capturing Photographs

Your main goal in Phasmophobia is to capture evidence, and no evidence is better than a photograph. Bring along a photo camera on your missions to capture photographs of the various hauntings in the house. Since a camera stores five photographs, we recommend bringing at least three cameras on a mission, allowing you to capture 15 photographs in total. These photographs will then yield $10 per piece if you survive and $5 per piece if you die.

Optional Objectives

When you set out on a mission in Phasmophobia, you can take a look at the list of optional objectives available for the mission. Simply observe the whiteboard inside the starting truck to see the objectives of the mission. Completing the optional objectives will then grant you bonus rewards and money.

Claiming Insurance

Let’s be real: You’re going to investigate a haunted house with a ghost inside. Your chances of survival are slim, and when you inevitably die, you lose all your equipment. In such cases, you will lose all of your equipment and money. But not all is lost, as you can then claim insurance benefits to earn back part of what you lost in the mission.
