Artifacts can be difficult to find in the world of Stalker 2 if you are new to the game. Let us help you figure out how to easily obtain them.
The Zone in the Stalker series is littered with artifacts. These collectibles offer different perks and protections from the threats in the harsh virtual world of Stalker 2. However, they can be a little tricky to find.
If you have played the previous games in the series, it may not be that difficult for you to come across artifacts in the latest installment either. They are not spawned at random but often have a pattern that you can recognize.
One of the first artifacts that you will find in the game is during the There and Back Again quest. After you exit the mobile in this mission, you will find a group of anomalies. You will find your first artifact here. This is exactly what you are supposed to do for the rest of the game.
Find an area with a group of anomalies together and take out your echo detector using the designated key/button on your system. The blue light on the device will become more aggressive as you get closer to an artifact and will also start beeping differently. Just follow this visual and/or audio indicator to pick up the artifact.
Some of the artifacts are also gathered as part of certain quests, and you can either take them or leave them behind. Unlike the Journalist Stashes, the artifacts can be random in nature, meaning that they have designated spawn locations, but the ones spawning there may differ. So, we recommend you save the game before approaching the new artifact. If you don’t like the one that you obtain, you can then load the last file to obtain a different artifact instead.
Obtaining Artifacts Easily in Stalker 2
The key to hunting artifacts effectively is to keep your echo detector upgraded at all times. You can’t upgrade it like any other piece of gear by visiting the Technician. Instead, you have to complete two side quests to get a better detector.
The device that you have at the beginning of the game appears outdated compared to others. Thanks to side quests like Budmo! and A Sign of Hope, you can find better detectors.
In Budmo!, you can gather a detector that reveals the distance between you and a nearby artifact. This is obtained by opening the stash near the power transmission pylon.
While playing A Sign of Hope, you don’t have to worry about the consequences of the choice if you wish to unlock a new detector. You will receive one regardless. Just finish this mission and you will obtain a new echo detector. This one tells you the direction you need to take to reach the new artifact and how close you are to it.
