Saving Investigations in Monster Hunter Wilds becomes increasingly important as you start exploring more of the harsh world. Each monster and its drops will intrigue you. Unfortunately, chances are, if you are going after Rompopolo, you would most probably have to leave Ajarakan alone to complete your hunt safely. If you find a monster in between an ongoing hunt that you can’t afford to hunt, you can save an Investigation for later on.

Here is a guide on how to save Investigations in Monster Hunter Wilds.

The post-endgame phase in Monster Hunter Wilds is arguably the most exciting for most fans of the franchise. This is because they are done with the primary questline, and all that remains is a vast sandbox filled with monsters to hunt and loot. No matter how expert a hunter you are, you can’t complete two different hunts at the same time. Fortunately, the game lets you save an Investigation for later through the World Map.

To do so, follow the steps given below:

  • Open the World Map by pressing the corresponding button on your controller/keyboard.
  • Move your cursor over the monster on the map and press A on Xbox/F on keyboard/X on PlayStation.
  • After choosing the monster through controllers, select Save as Investigation.

This will allow you to create an Investigation quest for later instead of starting the survey hunt right away. Players can then visit the quest counter and talk to Alma to begin this quest they crafted.

Beware of the Cost

The process of saving Investigations in Monster Hunter Wilds is pretty easy. Developers did a good job including this in the latest MH game. However, not all good things come for free. If you wish to save a field survey as an Investigation, you will be required to spend your Guild Points.

The cost will be different for almost all the quests you save. However, higher tier Investigations or the Tempered Monsters ones can cost you up to 600 Guild Points. It is not too expensive for those who are regular hunters. So, the next time you come across a field survey you can’t attend to, make sure to put those Guild Points to good use.
