Dragon Ball Sparking Zero brings the fast-paced, high-octane planet-destroying combat associated with Dragon Ball to your fingertips. With characters that are pretty much gods, robots, or aliens, it is no wonder that the combat is hard-hitting, and players naturally want to take on the offensive. However, Dragon Ball Sparking Zero also provides extensive defensive options that will help you defend and punish aggression. Deflecting beams and using the Sonic Sway are two such techniques you can master to gain the upper hand.

In this guide, we shall teach you how to Sonic Sway and deflect beams in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero.

How to Sonic Sway in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

The Sonic Sway in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero is a near-zen-like state where you dodge attacks at sonic speed. To do this, you have to perfectly time Super Perception as soon as the attack lands. Press and hold R1 + Circle on PlayStation or RB + B on Xbox to trigger Super Perception.

If timed perfectly, the Sonic Sway counters and deals extra damage and drains the enemy’s Ki. This can be tough to master but can be achieved with a bit of practice. The Sonic Sway can also be used against Ki blasts at the cost of two Ki bars. Keep your Ki guage in mind as you engage with Ki blasts.

How to Deflect Beams in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero

Beams are plenty in Dragon Ball Sparking Zero. While they can be dodged, the abundance of combos, blasts, and beams in the later stages of a battle can be overwhelming, and you may find yourself with no choice but to deflect a beam.

Deflecting a beam, much like Sonic Sways, is all about getting the hang of and mastering the timings of the attacks. Press Triangle + Circle if on Playstation or Y + B if on Xbox to deflect a beam. You have to time the deflection perfectly and press the buttons right as the beam is about to connect. Deflecting a beam costs two bars of Ki, so keep the state of your Ki gauge in mind when making the choice to dodge or deflect.
