How To Unlock Different Mercenary Ammo Types
Unlocking and acquiring these ammo types is the first step. In Path of Exile 2, you can obtain skill gems through various means. These skill gems correspond to different ammo types. They can drop from defeated enemies, be awarded as quest rewards, or be traded with NPCs. Once you have a skill gem, you need to equip it to use the associated ammo type. To do this, open your inventory, locate the skill gem, and drag it to an empty socket in your skill panel to equip it.
To switch between ammo types seamlessly during combat, it’s essential to bind the equipped skills to your hotbar. This allows you to quickly access different ammo types without diving into menus. In the skill panel, hover over the skill gem you wish to bind. Here, you can use the button at the bottom of the screen to assign it to a specific key on your hotbar. Remember to confirm that the skill icon appears on your hotbar for easy access.
How To Switch Different Mercenary Ammo Types
When you find yourself in the heat of battle, you can switch ammo types by pressing the corresponding hotkey. This action will reload your crossbow with the selected ammo type, and your basic attack will now utilize it. Switching is designed to be swift and seamless, taking about one second, which ensures you can adapt to changing combat scenarios.
Managing your Mana and ammo resources is also crucial. Different ammo types consume different amounts of Mana. For example, Armor-Piercing Ammo has a low Mana cost and can be used frequently. Meanwhile, Frost-related Ammo is more versatile but has a high Mana cost and is best used strategically.
Before entering combat, make sure all your ammo types are reloaded to maximize your options. During battle, allow your Mana to regenerate by avoiding unnecessary reloading, and keep an eye on your ammo count, which is displayed in the top-right corner of the hotbar.
