The world of Path of Exile 2 is massive, filled with forests, caves, towns, cities, fortresses, temples, and so much more. Traveling between these locations may seem fun at first but slowly becomes a chore as you unlock more of them towards the late game. Taking note of this, the developers, Grinding Gear Games, have added a fast travel feature between checkpoints in the latest patch.

Now, you can travel between checkpoints in Path of Exile 2, ensuring that no time is wasted, and you can move from quest to quest quickly. In this guide, we shall go over how to access the new fast travel feature and travel between checkpoints in Path of Exile 2.

You can fast-travel in Path of Exile 2 by using the various checkpoints scattered across the games. You stumble across the checkpoints by exploring a region. The checkpoints are big lamps that mark your progress in a region. Once you activate a checkpoint they light up to emit a bright blue flame. Once you’ve activated two or more checkpoints in a region, you will be able to travel between them.

With two or more checkpoints unlocked within a region, simply click on a checkpoint to bring up the map overlay. This map overlay will display the various checkpoints that are activated and unlocked in the region. Click on the dot next to the checkpoint you wish to fast travel to and the game will teleport you to the checkpoint of your choice. On PS5, use the Square key to access the overlay and use the D-Pad to travel to the checkpoint of your choice. Take note, however, that you can only use the checkpoint to travel to other checkpoints and nowhere else.

Other Fast Travel Options

Path of Exile 2 also lets you fast-travel using Town Portals and waypoints. You can use the Town Portal skill to teleport back to the Town of the region. The waypoints in Path of Exile 2 work the same way as the checkpoints in the game. The waypoints are bright blue circles marked on the ground. You unlock waypoints by exploring the various regions in the game. You can interact with waypoints and use them to travel to other unlocked waypoints in the game.
