The Street Surfer is a vehicle you can use to explore Honolulu in Like a Dragon: Pirate Yakuza in Hawaii. This machine makes exploring the city a breeze and significantly cuts down on travel time. To top it off, you get to look stylish while doing so. Unlocking the Street Surfer is also not a difficult task. However, you will have to make some progress in the main story to get it.

To unlock the Street Surfer, you will have to reach Chapter 2 of the main story. To get the Street Surfer, you will have to complete the substory: The Symbol of the City, the Street Surfer.

This substory can be started after you show Julie to your ship so she can upgrade it. After this, when you head north from Aloha Beach, a cutscene will start. A man named Oka will show you and Noah his invention, the Street Surfer. He will offer you a trial to test out the machine. After this, when Noah tries it out, he accidentally bumps into some men. They promptly lose their temper and get into a fight.

After you beat some sense into them, Oka will give you a Street Surfer for free as an apology. Additionally, he will also join your crew as a member. With this, you will complete the substory, and the Street Surfer will be yours.

You can only use the Street Surfer in the city of Honolulu. To use it, simply press down on your D-Pad, and you will automatically get on top of the Street Surfer. The Surfer can be used anywhere outdoors. It is much faster than simply running and makes traveling long distances much easier. It also helps you escape combat encounters, as you move faster than your enemies can catch up to.

The Street Surfer also has an auto-cruise function. Once you set a marker somewhere on the map, the vehicle can take you there automatically. To activate this feature, press the R2 button while on the Street Surfer. The auto-cruise function does not avoid obstacles. However, you can still steer the Surfer manually while it is in auto-cruise mode to avoid obstacles.

Note that the Street Surfer has a limited battery that will need to be charged periodically. To charge the Surfer, approach one of the Oka stations throughout the city. These are indicated by the Street Surfer icon on the map. Charging one bar costs $30. Charging half of the battery costs $55, and charging the full battery costs $100.
