Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth is the sequel to Final Fantasy 7 Remake and both games have been developed by Square Enix. Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth was released for the PlayStation 5 on February 29, 2024. The game brings a diverse cast of playable characters, each having unique storylines and personalities. The party system facilitates various synergies between the playable cast.
Among the characters is the “Mysterious Ninja” or “Treasure Princess,” Yuffie Kisaragi. She is a witty and playful character who brings lightheartedness to the group’s dynamic. This character is also equally capable in battle and is quite strong. Here’s a guide on how to unlock Yuffie in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth.
Recruiting Yuffie in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth
In Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth, Yuffie Kisaragi becomes an official member of your party in Chapter 6, in Costa del Sol. Throughout Chapters 4 to 6, you will encounter Yuffie multiple times, but she officially joins your team after a series of events on the beach in Costa del Sol.
Steps to Recruit Yuffie:
- Chapter 4: Your first meeting with Yuffie takes place in Junon during Chapter 4 where you save her. Despite this initial encounter, she doesn’t join your party at this point.
- Chapter 6: Following the battle at the beach, interact with the characters and then retire to the hotel for the night. The next morning, Yuffie will express her desire to join your party. After a few choice prompts, she will join your party.
This method of recruiting is much simpler compared to Final Fantasy 7 Remake, where players had to recruit Yuffie through a random chance encounter that did not guarantee her appearance. The change in Final Fantasy 7 Rebirth—from a chance encounter with Yuffie to an unmissable event—is a welcome improvement. After the event in Costa del Sol, Yuffie will permanently join the team and can be added to the squad.
From here on out, you can utilize her ninja-like combat skills. Yuffie can switch between both melee attacks and long-ranged attacks. Being a ninja, she also has excellent agility with attacks that can be used to evade enemies while being able to change elemental affinity on a whim. Her only downside is her defense as she has less HP compared to other playable characters.
