Navigating the paths of Hollow Knight will make you jump, fly, and dash through various obstacles as a platformer. One of the game’s essential mechanics is the wall jump, which can be obtained in the game. Here’s how to get the Wall Jump in Hollow Knight.

The world of Hollow Nest is deep and treacherous. To help you navigate deep crystal caves to living villages and dead cities, Hollow Knight provides you with various traversal abilities. But you need to go explore and obtain them, as the game only directs you through objectives by placing obstacles in front of you. While you might seem lost, one of the first ever rewards you obtain is the wall jump in Hollow Knight.

The wall jump can be used through the Mantis Claw, found in the lower parts of the Fungal Waste, in the Mantis Village. The Mantis Claw is found in an area where a Mantis warrior is guarding the gate. But, before you obtain the Mantis Claw for wall jumps, you need to first obtain the mothwing cloak. The Mothwing Cloak is dropped after you defeat Hornet in the Green Path.

The Mantis Claw allows you to grab walls and jump infinitely, opening up the game’s previously inaccessible areas. You can also reset your double jumps, dashes if you grab a wall. This will help you platform through the game’s harder sections easily.

This ability is also helpful in boss fights, where some projectiles have to be dodged by climbing a wall and holding on to the walls. Or, the Colosseum, where you have to fight and do parkour at once.

Will There Be Wall Jump in Hollow Knight: Silksong?

After 6 long years of waiting, Team Cherry has finally provided a spark of communication to the community through their recent Nintendo showcase of Hollow Knight: Silksong. This confirms that the game will be arriving in mid to late 2025, hopefully. The gameplay trailer years ago showcased much more maneuverable movement and a grappling hook!

Playing as Hornet, you will be able to wall jump as shown in the official trailer. Hollow Knight has set the industry standard for metroidvanias and proven itself as one of the best indie games of all time. Now, Silksong will be published by Microsoft Games and hopes to be an even bigger success than Hollow Knight.
