Karl Jacobs is a Twitch streamer who became a member of MrBeast’s crew in 2020, after working for the star streamer’s brother.
Karl Jacobs is known for being a close friend of the “Dream Team” and a member of MrBeast’s crew. He joined the Dream SMP in August 2020. Before joining MrBeast’s crew in the same year, he was working as a crew member for the YouTube star’s brother, MrBro. He has featured in a lot of videos with MrBeast and is known for hosting a podcast named “Banter” with Sapnap and GeorgeNotFound.
Karl met Dream when MrBeast collaborated with the Minecraft streamer on his gaming channel, MrBeast Gaming. After hanging out with them, Karl was invited by the Dream Team to give him a rank that allowed him to join them and talk to them anytime. Later, they started inviting him over as well. After Karl Jacobs tweeted about the DreamSMP, Dream white listed him.
Who Is Karl Jacobs?
Karl Jacobs, previously known as GamerBoyKarl, is a YouTuber and Twitch streamer known for participating in MrBeast’s challenge videos. Born on July 19, 1998, Karl grew up with a sister and a brother. While he was in school, he had a knack for football and tennis and later went on to create a gaming club. MrBeast offered Karl a job while he was in college, so he dropped out just five weeks before graduating.
In the beginning, he was often spotted in the background in MrBeast’s videos. But once Jake The Viking left MrBeast’s crew, Karl became an on-screen member. Since then, he has been part of a lot of challenges. He is usually mocked for mostly being second during these challenges. Later, he started streaming his own videos, primarily Minecraft content.
Karl Jacobs then started a series called “Tales from the SMP,” which explored the different stories of the characters in the Dream SMP. This brought in a lot of viewership for him as it also included famous personalities like Lil Nas X. He now has a total of 3.6 million followers on Twitch and 5.08 million subscribers on YouTube.
Karl’s “Inside Joke”
Recently, on November 2, 2024, “zachxposts” uploaded a TikTok video claiming that Karl Jacob has been arrested, and it went viral. The alleged arrest was made following reports of explicit images of minors being circulated within a MrBeast-affiliated Telegram group. The video further claimed that Karl tried to delete his Telegram account post the allegations.
Adding fire to the controversy, popular YouTuber and baker Rosanna Pansino, who had previously collaborated with MrBeast, tweeted, “I have reported what I found and my concerns to the authorities @FBI. Hopefully they will look into these MrBeast Telegram Company Chats Logs and other concerns.”

Keemstar addressed the claim and debunked the allegation through a tweet. Later, zackxposts also announced that the news was false and that it was an “inside joke.”
