The latest horror sensation on Steam has skyrocketed in popularity, attracting more players each day. But is REPO free-to-play?

The 6-player co-op horror game REPO has taken Steam on Storm, hitting a peak player count of 145,592. Semiwork Studios’ REPO launched on February 26, 2025, for PC via Steam. The title is currently in early access, with the developers estimating the phase will last between 6 to 12 months. Since its launch, the game has been highly praised for its unique blend of horror and humor.
In REPO, you and your friends explore a haunted mansion to retrieve and extract various valuable items using physics-based mechanics while evading different monsters. If you are wondering whether the Steam sensation is free to play, the answer is no—REPO is not a free-to-play title.

How Much Does REPO Cost?
Developed by indie Swedish studio Semiwork, REPO is priced at $9.99 (or 9,75€). At launch, the game was available at a 20% discount, with the lowest recorded price being $7.99 (or 7,80€). Most Indie games do not launch a free-to-play title, as it cuts off their revenue, especially if the game lacks microtransactions.
While REPO is not an F2P title, its affordable price of $9.99 makes it a worthwhile purchase. The early access guaranteed hours of fun-filled replayable content filled with 3 worlds, 19 enemies, 29 equipment items, and 8 player upgrades. The developers have also mentioned that they will increase the game pricing with the launch of their 1.0 version, stating:
“Yes, we plan to do a price raise when 1.0 releases.”
While the game is perfectly playable in the early access phases, the developers want to improve the game in every aspect based on the community feedback. They also planned to flesh out the game with elements like player customization, meta progression, additional story elements, upgrades, equipment, levels, and enemies in the full version. Additionally, the team plans to introduce matchmaking, allowing players to experience the humorous horror with random players.
