YouTube streamer Darren “IShowSpeed” Watkins Jr. rode the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra electric vehicle (EV) during his ongoing China trip and was impressed by the car. After Speed’s translator and friend told him that the EV was faster than his Lamborghini Huracan, the streamer could not believe it.

The Xiaomi SU7 Ultra is faster than IShowSpeed’s Lamborghini Huracan in terms of top speed. It reached up to 223.51 mph (359.71 km/h) during testing at the CATARC Yan Cheng Automotive Proving Grounds. For comparison, Speed’s Huracan reaches up to 202 mph (325 km/h. The Xiaomi EV also boasts better acceleration than the Huracan, and it is one of China’s most popular EV supercars in its local market.

IShowSpeed is currently traveling in China and showcasing the local culture. His translator and friend gave him a quick tour of Shanghai’s roadways on the Xiaomi SU7 Ultra during Speed’s first day in the country. The streamer plans to stay in China and stream for multiple weeks.

IShowSpeed Is Shocked by the Xiami SU7 Ultra’s Speeds

IShowSpeed was impressed by the Xiaomi SU7, and he asked his friend:

“How much does this car cost?”

His friend responded:

“This retails for around $60…70 thousand dollars”

Speed was surprised at the retail price and said:

“$70,000? And it is faster than my Lamborghini? And it’s electric?”

Speed’s friend tried to show off how fast the car could go while staying within the speed limit, and the streamer seemed impressed. He started looking around the car and told his viewers:

“Damn! And it costs $70,000? That’s it. And my Lamborghini costs $250,000!”

IShowSpeed purchased his $250,000 Lamborghini Huracan in March 2024. He got custom decals and artwork on the car featuring soccer player Cristiano Ronaldo, Speed’s favorite player. The streamer was impressed by the Xiaomi car’s performance and couldn’t believe how powerful electric cars are.

Speed’s Livestreams in China Are Going Viral

IShowSpeed’s first day in China was a success, with his YouTube stream getting nearly 5 million views in 24 hours. He also streamed on the Chinese social media platform Douyin and got nearly 4 million views on his very first livestream.

IShowSpeed visited a “marriage market” in China, interacted with local influencers, and tried out local food. Despite YouTube being banned in China, Speed’s team received permission to livestream on the platform.

Speed was surprised to see how many Chinese locals recognized him and offered him gifts. One of his fans brought up a Manchester United soccer jersey while others brought him local souvenirs to take home.
