Everything you need to know about Mafia The Old Country’s official PC system requirements, including the recommended GPU, file size, and more.
After months of speculation, developer Hangar 13 has finally revealed the official release date for the next mainline Mafia game, Mafia The Old Country. As the rumors suggested, the game is scheduled to be released in August 2025 and is currently available for pre-order on all current-gen platforms.
Alongside the game’s release, Hangar 13 and publisher 2K also revealed a ton of details regarding the game’s pre-orders. Furthermore, the developer also revealed the game’s official PC system requirements. They are quite high, even for an Unreal Engine 5 title.
That being said, the minimum specifications do offer a silver lining for budget PC gamers. Here’s everything you need to know about Mafia The Old Country’s PC system requirements.
Mafia The Old Country PC System Requirements
For Mafia The Old Country, Hangar 13 has ditched its Havok-based engine in favor of Unreal Engine 5. And considering the game isn’t a traditional open-world akin to Mafia 3 or Mafia Definitive Edition, it’s a welcome choice. Furthermore, the studio seems to be using the full suite of UE5’s toolset, including Lumen, Nanite, and Virtual Shadow-maps, even on consoles.
The game also seems to feature an RT-based solution for GI and lighting, over traditional rasterized methods. This explains the game’s minimum specifications including GPUs with support for hardware RT. Additionally, similarly to other UE5 titles, Mafia The Old Country seems to be mostly VRAM-dependent.
While the game does require plenty of CPU horsepower, you should be fine as long as you have a modern 6-core CPU. That said, you will need a fairly beefy setup if you plan to play the game at 1440p or above. The recommended GPU for 1440p is an RTX 3080 Ti, which, despite its age, is still a high-end GPU. Mafia The Old Country File Size
According to the official PC specifications, Mafia The Old Country will require roughly 55 GB of storage space. In addition to that, Hangar 13 highly recommends installing the game on an SSD, which shouldn’t come as a surprise considering it’s an Unreal Engine 5 game.
That said, for a Mafia game to be packed at roughly 55 GB is quite impressive. Most UE5 games often ship with bloated file sizes, with Black Myth Wukong and Oblivion Remastered being the prime examples. However, it’s also possible that the game’s linear structure is the reason behind its smaller file size.
