In this article, we will list the major changes that are coming to Rainbow Six Siege in Y10S1’s Operation Prep Phase.

Rainbow Six Siege launched late in 2015 and now, a decade later, enters its biggest season yet with Y10S1. The popular 5v5 shooter enters its 10th year with Operation Prep Phase, and there is a lot to be excited about. This brand-new season brings in a new attacking operator, designed and intended to shake up the meta completely.
In addition to the exciting new operator, we will also be seeing big changes as the Reputation system moves out of its beta phase. Ubisoft is looking to penalize toxicity harshly, and we are all for it. The matchmaking system, too, is getting a complete overhaul to improve the player experience.
If you’ve been out of the loop, all these changes are pretty big, and there’s a lot of catching up to do. In this article, we will list out the major changes that are coming to Rainbow Six Siege in Y10S1’s Operation Prep Phase and discuss in detail their impact on the game.
All Major Changes in Operation Prep Phase
1) The Reputation System Exits Beta

The Reputation System in Rainbow Six Siege was introduced in beta as a means to handle player toxicity. If you’re a friendly player, you receive a positive reputation, and being rude and toxic results in a negative reputation. Now, this system exits beta, resetting player reputations and bringing tangible benefits and punishments.
If you’re a good player this season, you’ll be rewarded with alpha packs and exclusive backgrounds. If you’re a toxic player, however, the game will lock you out of playlists such as Ranked and the Siege Cup and will also penalize your progression and rewards.
2) Rauora Shifts the Meta

The biggest change coming to Rainbow Six Siege is Rauora, who will indefinitely kick the meta into the attackers’ favor. With the season barely being a day old, we’ve already felt the new operator impact matches in huge ways. This new operator’s ability to block off doorways makes executes and pushes much easier.
For instance, in one of our ranked matches, we were effortlessly able to push into CCTV (Clubhouse) by blocking off the red hallway and clearing rafters. While we’re unsure of how this will affect the defender win rate in the long run, defenders are surely in for a rough time at the moment.
3) Dynamic Matchmaking

Dynamic matchmaking is a new system that optimizes matchmaking based on how many requests are being sent to the server. This system seeks to accommodate both densely and sparsely populated regions and achieve higher-quality matches during peak hours. This means that if the server is densely populated with several players queuing, the game will prioritize matchmaking based on skill and connectivity.
If very few players are online, however, the game will lower the criteria to ensure players get a match. This new matchmaking ensures that the queue times are cut short and players get games fast.
