Marvel Rivals is a 6v6 hero shooter that sees your favorite characters from the Marvel universe duking it out in iconic locations from Marvel history. The game features several maps, all balanced around the various superpowered individuals that will be fighting within its confines.

Out of these maps, Empire of the Eternal Night: Midtown may be the most controversial map. The map is fairly unique, featuring large numbers of structures, walls, and other forms of cover. The areas are tight, often crunching you within four walls and putting you in melee range. The map is heavily attacker-sided, too, and has drawn considerable criticism from fans. If you’re looking to play this map and want a chance at winning, our guide is here to help. In this guide, we shall go over the best team composition for Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown.

Best Team Setup for Empire of Eternal Night: Midtown

The ideal team composition consists of a 2-2-2 setup, splitting the roles evenly between the six available players. This means you need 2 Duellists, 2 Vanguards, and 2 Strategists. Since the game is currently in a three-support meta, you can adjust this 2-2-2 into a 2-1-3 for the time being. But since we expect the slow meta to be adjusted through nerfs or a role queue at some point, we’re going ahead with a 2-2-2 recommendation.

Vanguard Setup for Midtown In Marvel Rivals

The first Vanguard we recommend bringing in is Dr. Strange. Strange is one of the most versatile picks and proves his worth on every map. His shield allows you to defend your melee attackers when they’re out in the open, giving them the opportunity to close in gaps and wreck the enemy team. Strange is also more than capable of holding the map chokepoints and applying pressure to the enemy team. Magneto, too, fills in the same role as Strange and is highly useful in this map.

Duelist Setup for Midtown In Marvel Rivals

The first Duelist we recommend bringing in to Midtown is Black Panther. As we mentioned earlier, this map is filled with small, storeyed structures that force you into melee range. A character such as Black Panther excels at this range and is also capable of utilizing multiple surfaces to traverse the map with ease.

Storm is the next character we recommend bringing into Midtown. Once Black Panther forces enemies to flee and out into the streets, Storm can catch them on the retreat out in the open and deal tons of damage. Her Enhanced Tornado and Thunder are perfect for buffing herself and her allies, allowing you to mop the floor with the enemy team. If Storm is not working out for you, you can switch her out for Iron Fist or any other melee character.

Strategist Setup for Midtown in Marvel Rivals

The first strategist we recommend bringing in is Rocket Raccoon. Rocket is highly versatile and has been a sleeper pick in the new support-heavy meta. His ability to revive teammates while also supplying heals makes him a universal pick for any map. We also recommend bringing in the likes of either Luna Snow or Invisible Woman. Both the characters have ults that apply status effects to allies within a radius, and this is very useful in the close-quarter regions of Midtown.
