Marvel Rivals is Luna Snow’s second big appearance in a Marvel game. She debuted as a character in Marvel’s Future Fight and now NetEase used her abilities and character models for their own roster in Marvel Rivals.
They made interesting use of the character by giving her healing abilities and assigning her the Strategist role. She is one of the best healers because she can also contribute to impressive DPS outputs. Let’s learn the best ways to play her.
Luna Snow’s Abilities in Marvel Rivals
ABILITIES | EFFECT |
Light & Dark Ice (Primary) | Fire ice shots that damage enemies or heal allies. |
Fate of Both Worlds (Ultimate) | Take center stage and start dancing! Press to toggle between two performances: Heal allies or grant them Damage Boost. |
Smooth Skate (Traversal) | Keep moving forward to start ice skating and enable higher jumps. |
Cryo Heart (Passive) | Automatically restore Health when casting Ice Arts or Absolute Zero. |
Ice Arts | Fire ice shards for a short duration, damaging enemies, or healing allies while restoring her own health. |
Share the Stage | Attach Idol Aura to an ally. Allies with Idol Aura also restore Health when Luna Snow is healing others. |
Absolute Zero | Cast a clump of ice to Freeze the hit enemy and restore Health. |
Icy Disco (Team-up) | Luna Snow infuses ice energy into Namor and Jeff the Land Shark, who then can tap into the ice energy to power up abilities at will. |
Frozen Chi (Team-up) | Iron Fist channels the Chi of Shou-Lao into Luna Snow, transforming her ice power into a Chi-infused frosty ring that radiates from her. This ring can knock back enemies with chilling damage and applies a slowing effect, while simultaneously healing her allies. |

Luna Snow’s Survivability
Everybody’s favorite frosty pop star has a base health of 275. This surprisingly saves her from the title of a “squishy character” because that usually applies to those who have 250 max HP. That doesn’t mean that she can’t easily die, though. Hawkeye and Winter Soldier only require a few well-placed headshots to make quick work of her.
With that said, she also has two major abilities that she can use to “self-heal”. These are Ice Arts and Absolute Zero. While Ice Arts enhances Luna’s damage and healing ability by giving her an ice beam of sorts, the other completely freezes the targeted enemy for 2.7 seconds.
Both of these perfectly align with Luna’s healing because it makes sense for her to heal at these crucial moments. However, her self-heal is not as strong as Adam Warlock’s. So, I would say that her survivability is decent, but not too impressive.
Luna Snow’s Mobility
Much like any other character on the roster, she has a movement speed of 6m/s (meters per second). However, Luna also has a Passive Traversal Ability. Her Smooth Skate activates automatically after 0.5 seconds of moving ahead. From 6m/s, her movement speed shifts to 9.6m/s instead. This is a straight 3.6m/s increase which is pretty impressive.

Although she can’t dive or effectively hold points, this mobility can help her reach stressful points on the map quickly after respawning. Which is why she is such an effective Strategist. However, since the skating Ability kicks in after a minor delay, she cannot quickly get in and out of situations like some other Strategists on the roster.
Luna Snow Playstyle and Combos
The primary playstyle to adapt to as Luna Snow is “support” this means that you shouldn’t get too aggressive with your play. We suggest that you don’t rigidly follow these instructions and switch things up as needed.
However, in most cases, try staying at the backline and alternating between two types of supports: DPS output and healing. Since your primary fire does both things for you, damaging enemies and healing allies, you don’t need to keep a lot of other healing abilities in mind.
As soon as your Ice Arts is available after cooldown, use it immediately. Although you can’t headshot with it, it can penetrate allies and enemies to heal and deal damage at the same time, which can be game-changing for players at the backline. Also, don’t forget to use your Absolute Zero on whatever enemy is holding aggro. This allows your team to put this person down without much trouble.
You can also target an escaping enemy who is nearly dead to ensure a kill. Lastly, make sure that you are using the Share the Stage Ability on a flying character or a diver who is out of sight most of the time to ensure that you keep healing them even when they are out of focus. Note that there is no cooldown for this ability and can instantly be switched.
Best Team Composition With Luna Snow in Marvel Rivals
ROLE | CHARACTERS |
Vanguards | Doctor Strange, Hulk |
Duelists | Namor, Iron Fist |
Strategist | Jeff the Land Shark |
Doctor Strange will be a defensive Vanguard who protects the Strategists by staying at their frontline. Hulk, on the other hand, will be a diving Vanguard who keeps the pressure on enemies. He will hold aggro for the most part.
Namor will stay at the back with the Strategists and contribute to the DPS output. He can also prove useful against divers with his squid-turret ability and serve as an extra protective layer for the healers at the back. Not to forget that he will benefit from Luna’s Icy Disco Team-up. Iron Fist, on the other hand, is another diving character who will help out Hulk behind the enemy front lines. He will also give Luna the Frozen Chi Team-up.
Lastly, Jeff the Land Shark is another Strategist on the team besides Luna who will stay at the backline for most of the match. However, whenever needed, his incredible mobility will allow him to become a pocket healer for the divers. He is the second character to benefit from the Icy Disco Team-up besides Namor.
Luna Snow Counters in Marvel Rivals
![Luna Snow in Marvel Rivals](https://deltiasgaming.com/wp-content/uploads/2024/12/Luna-Snow.jpg)
Many characters will be able to counter Luna Snow, but the following heroes will prove immediate trouble for her:
- Iron Fist
- Venom
- Hulk
- Black Panther
- Star Lord
- Captain America
- Magik
- Spider-Man
- Hawkeye
- Black Widow
All the characters on the list are pretty similar. We say this because most of the names here belong to the same category, and that is “divers”. Hawkeye and Black Widow are the only two heroes who are not in this category and have a long enough range to take care of Luna Snow before she gets to them or has a chance of reacting.
All the characters besides them that we mentioned can infiltrate the enemy team comp or flank even if Luna is at the back of the formation. This means that if you are Luna and see any of these characters near you, there’s not much you will be able to do because the Duelists like Iron Fist, Black Panther, Star Lord, Magik, and Spider-Man offer impactful DPS against somebody with 275 base health.
On the other hand, characters like Venom, Hulk, and Captain America have big enough health pools to survive all her attacks. Not to forget that Cap can deflect her Absolute Zero using his shield.
Tips and Tricks to Play Luna Snow in Marvel Rivals

Luna Snow is not that complicated of a character, but Strategists tend to have certain tricks that players might not actively remember to apply. So, take this as a reminder to note down all the tips that will help you while playing Luna Snow in your next matches:
- Share the Stage ability has a minor passive healing and heals a percent to the targeted ally no matter who you are healing. However, it’s not as strong of a heal as your primary ability. So, make sure to focus on that character whenever feasible.
- Once the character who had this Share the Stage ability dies, it doesn’t automatically apply to another ally. So, make sure to consciously use it again because it is one of the most effective abilities in Luna’s kit.
- Use Absolute Zero on enemies who are either aggro, divers, or running away when they are just one shot away from dying.
- Your Ultimate ability is team-effective. Meaning that you shouldn’t pop it up alone but wait for critical times to rally your team. Ensure that enough or all your teammates are available at the moment, and it will change the tide of the battle.
- Keep switching between Damage Boost and Healing when using your Ult to ensure you make the most out of it.
- Your Ultimate Ability does not save you and your teammates from one-shot Ultimates like Scarlet Witch’s or Iron Man’s. So, you still have to take cover. The same goes for Punisher’s Judge, Jury, Executioner.
- Aim for headshots with your primary because it has a three-hit burst to quickly take down squishy characters including various DPS. While your Ice Arts deals more damage, it can’t headshot. So, only use it when you are confident in your aim, at the back of the line, or trying to CC (crowd control).
