How To Play Magneto in Marvel Rivals
Mobility of Magneto
Magneto in Marvel Rivals lacks mobility. The only thing we could think of is that he can slow down his fall using the Magnetic Descent. You can use this to aim better while falling. Other than that, he is quite slow and can’t do much when he is zoned out without any help nearby.
This is why you need to choose your fights wisely. If you fall into an ambush, you are most likely going to get knocked out if no ally comes to your aid.
Survivability of Magneto
If there is one thing the master of magnetism excels at, it’s his survivability. Magneto in Marvel Rivals wants to get hit while his abilities are active. He can even use Metallic Curtain to block projectiles, giving your team enough space to come up with a counter-engage.
Needless to say, you need to have a healer with you at all times and you are indestructible. Just don’t get too overconfident as Magneto is not very effective without his shields.
Magneto Playstyle and Combos
You need to focus on stacking your Iron Rings to deal damage. You can throw a bit of Iron Volley sometimes but you will most likely need to focus on soaking up a ton of damage while your shield is up. You can also shield an ally to get stacks for your Iron Rings.
When your teammates are in a pinch, you can cast Metallic Curtain to give them a small window to heal up and get back to the fight. You can also use this if you plan to press forward and make room for your team to follow up.
Magneto’s Meteor M is a bit tricky to use. You need to be familiar with the timing of letting go of the meteor or it will self-destruct. Once you get the hang of it, it’s a devastating AoE attack that can also vacuum all enemy projectiles.
Best Team Compositions With Magneto in Marvel Rivals
Teaming up with Scarlet Witch is the best choice for Magneto in Marvel Rivals. This allows him to summon a giant greatsword that can easily melt down squishy targets. It basically makes him a huge threat to the enemy team.
Other than that, he can fit in most team compositions. Heroes that can capitalize on his shields like Venom, Magik, and Black Panther are some of his best synergies.
Magneto Counters in Marvel Rivals
Due to his lack of mobility, Magneto in Marvel Rivals struggles with characters who can fly or move very quickly and reposition. Some of these heroes include Iron Man and Storm. However, he can just tank their damage. You will most likely rely on your teammates for offensive support while you become the damage sponge.
Tips and Tricks To Play Magneto in Marvel Rivals
- The greatsword you get from Metallic Fusion does not have a headshot multiplier. Don’t stress yourself by trying to hit a headshot. Just keep swinging.
- When a fight takes place, you can start your combo with the Meteor M to vacuum all enemy projectiles to you.
- Keep an eye on your teammates, especially those in the back line. If your Strategists die, you won’t be able to tank too much damage.
- The Metallic Curtain does not have health and will stay up until it expires. It won’t break early.
- Always use your Mag-Cannon when it’s in full stacks. It doesn’t have a cooldown and can be used as long as you have Iron Rings.
