Become the master of oceans and the worst nightmare of every diver in Marvel Rivals by learning how to play Namor!

Namor is not the most powerful Duelist in Marvel Rivals. However, he has one very specific hater base, and that comprises all dive players. When played correctly, Namor can be an impactful character in any match, but players don’t often know the correct way of using his powers. We are here to change that and to ensure that you become every diver’s worst nightmare.

Namor’s Ability Kit in Marvel Rivals

Wrath of the Seven Seas	Launch the trident forward to damage nearby enemies, then direct all Monstro Spawn to perform an enhanced attack on the nearest hit enemy. When the trident hits an enemy, Monstro Spawn enters a berserk state, gaining increased Attack Speed.
Frozen Spawn	Frozen SpawnLuna Snow infuses ice energy into Namor and Jeff the Land Shark, who then can tap into the ice energy to power up abilities at will.

How To Play Namor in Marvel Rivals

Namor’s Survivability

Namor is another squishy character on the roster with only 275 base health. With this health, he is pretty easy to take down when you are not taking good care of your opponents easily. However, his base health should not be mistaken because he can literally turn invincible at the click of a button.

Whenever things get overwhelming, or you need protection from scary Ultimates, you can just use the Blessing of the Deep to become invincible for 3 seconds. A sphere will take over Namor and he can move around with a speed of 7m/s. He can also receive heals from his healers in this form but won’t receive any damage. This ability has a 15-second cooldown. So, his survivability is not unbreachable.

Namor’s Mobility

The only thing about Namor’s mobility that you should know about is the invincible sphere ability that we just mentioned. Unfortunately, he cannot use his mutant ankle wings to fly or levitate. So, outside his sphere ability which has a 15-second cooldown, he is just a regular hero with a 6m/s movement speed.

The most mobility that you can get out of Namor is by binding his jump to a button which is easily accessible to you. This way, he will have better mobility while playing and also be harder to take down because he will then become a “moving target” rather than a sitting duck.

Namor Playstyle and Combos

Namor’s playstyle is all about being aggressive since he is a Duelist. However, one thing to note here is that “aggression” doesn’t mean that you have to be on the frontline at all times. In fact, Namor is meant to be played at mid-to-back lines. So, you can’t dive or tank damage with this character because of his squishy health and how his Ability Kit is.

The best “combo” in this scenario is to tackle against diving characters in the backline. Simply use your Aquatic Dominion Ability twice in a row and use the Wrath of the Seven Seas attack at the feet of the diver. This will send your Monstro Spawn into a frenzy, increasing their rate of fire after they hit a powerful attack. It can lay waste to the best Spider-Man and Black Panther players quickly.

Your primary attack does 70 damage per hit. However, if you hit a critical hit (headshot), the Aquatic Dominion will cool down faster. Moreover, headshots will also increase the spawns’ fire rate immediately. Don’t forget that you can only summon two of these at a time. So, if you have a Luna Snow on your team, send one regular spawn and a frozen spawn if you have one ready.

Best Team Composition With Namor in Marvel Rivals

We will keep this team comp as aggressive as possible to exterminate those enemies quickly. To start off, we have only one Vanguard, and that is Magneto. He can tank a lot of damage based on his abilities and also provide a shield to his allies in need.

Hela can stay at mid-long range with Namor to deal damage and help the support when they are in dire need. Magik, however, will be the diver that this team needs. She can coordinate attacks with both Namor and Hela to ensure quick kills.

Luna Snow will ensure that Namor gets his benefit from the Team-up while giving the same power to Jeff as well. The latter can also heal faster than Luna and be an effective ally when Namor is in his shield.

The following characters hard counter Namor:

Storm
Iron Man
Hawkeye
Black Widow
Moon Knight
The Punisher
Winter Soldier

Storm and Iron Man can soar through the skies and keep away from Namor’s Monstro Spawn while also shooting him effectively enough to kill him.

Hawkeye and Black Widow can “snipe” him from across the corridor. Since Namor will have difficulty replying with the same range, he can easily be taken down. Not to forget that he is a squishy character by base health.

Moon Knight doesn’t even need to be in his line of sight to put down Namor, making him one of the best counters against this character because he can also dodge his Monstro Spawn pretty easily. On the other hand, The Punisher can deliver high DPS against him in a short time while Winter Soldier can literally “abduct” Namor using his arm hook and let his team make short work of him.

Tips and Tricks To Play Namor in Marvel Rivals

If you are playing Namor, make sure to use the following tricks to make the most out of your match:

If you have Luna on your team, use his frozen spawn along with one of your regular Monstro Spawn. This way, when the squids disappear, you will have two recharged in your hand already. And when they disappear, the frozen one will be about ready.
Aim for headshots most of the time.
You can aim Wrath of the Seven Seas at the enemy’s feet because it has splash damage.
Don’t try to get to a leverage point where your healers can’t see you with the help of Blessing of the Deep. This is because your position is utterly predictable when using the big water sphere.
There are two circles when using your Ultimate. The smaller one is in the middle and the bigger one is outside it. You can immediately kill Luna Snow in her Ultimate if you land her in the middle of the circle.
If somebody who is not under protection lands in the outer circle of the Ultimate, make sure to kill them off during their stun phase.
You can also cancel your Ultimate if you want to save it for later.
