How To Play Star-Lord in Marvel Rivals

Star-Lord’s Mobility

Star-Lord stands as one of the top contenders when it comes to precise and quick movements. Some of his abilities, such as Stellar Shift and Rocket Propulsion, contribute to his quick movements and make him fly through the arena, making it difficult to target him.

Stellar Shift allows him to dodge the incoming attack from a specific direction and reload at the same time, whereas Rocket Propulsion, as the name suggests, puts him in flight mode. If perfectly used, you can reach higher vantage points with this ability and attack your enemies from there.

Star-Lord’s Survivability

When it comes to survivability, Star-Lord will not do well. With a base health of only 250, Star-Lord will likely be defeated with two or three power-packed hits. He relies much on his mobility to evade attacks and survive the battle.

When it comes to dueling against a single opponent, Star-Lord likely gets the upper hand. But when surrounded by several enemies, it’s better to fly away using his abilities to survive.

Star-Lord Playstyle and Combos

Star-Lord is one of the tailor-made characters for a shooter game. His prowess remains in mid-close range, as he can just aim and shoot off enemies by dealing constant DPS. If he gets surrounded in any case, he could just use his abilities to escape the situation.

To initiate a combo with Star-Lord, start off with his Element Guns until you run out of magazines. Then, instead of reloading while standing still, you can use Stellar Shift to reload your guns, which also helps in dodging the incoming attack. Now, go for a second round with Element Guns and follow with a Blaster Barrage to target and attack all the enemies within a spherical radius of 8m.

If everything goes right, your ultimate ability, Galactic Legend, will be charged up by now. Use it to show complete dominance on the battlefield, which deals with huge DPS by locking the nearby targets and also puts you in free-flight mode. Galactic Legend is one of the best duelist ultimate abilities in the entire game that makes Star-Lord truly a ‘Lord’.

Best Team Composition With Star-Lord in Marvel Rivals

Star-Lord is one of the OP characters in Marvel Rivals, known for his flexibility around the arena. As a result, it doesn’t matter which characters you are pairing him with.

However, if you want to utilize his team-based (Guardian Revival) attack move, then you should team up Star-Lord with Adam Warlock and Mantis. When his team-up ability, Leader’s Soul, is activated, Adam Warlock revives Star-Lord and Mantis with full health upon death.

Star-Lord Counters in Marvel Rivals

As we already discussed, Star-Lord’s weakness is his health bar. With only 250 HP, he can’t survive more than a few hits. Characters who can deal high damage in a single shot, such as Hawkeye or Black Widow, can be effective against him. Taking out these duelists with Star-Lord is difficult as they have the upper hand when facing each other.

Another notable counter for Star-Lord is Namor. With his Aquatic Dominion ability, he summons a Monstro Spawn, which attacks enemies automatically. This will be a huge disadvantage for Star-Lord, as his dodging or evading techniques surely fail against this ability.
