A new Dev Talk has revealed that there will be no rank reset after the end of Marvel Rivals Season 1 First Half. The most recent Marvel Rivals Dev Talk revealed that the Season 1 mid-season update will also feature a rank reset and decay. However, the community feedback did not reflect this rank reset very positively. To that extent, the developers have decided that there will be no such reset when Marvel Rivals Season 1 Second Half begins.

That said, you will still need to play some competitive matches to sort of “reclaim” your rank. In this article, we will discuss the rank rewards and all other details for the Marvel Rivals Season 1 Second Half.

No Seasonal Rank Reset When Marvel Rivals Season 1 Second Half Begins

Developer NetEase Games has confirmed that there will be no rank reset when the Marvel Rivals Season 1 Second Half starts on February 21, 2025. After the last Dev Talk, the community expressed their concern and dissatisfaction with a mid-season rank reset. The developers acknowledged this and mentioned in their new Dev Talk blog:

“A common concern was the pressure associated with having a rank reset every half-season, which has made participating in competitive mode less enjoyable.”

Following this, NetEase Games decided to scrap off the rank reset at the end of Season 1 First Half completely. They further mentioned in their Dev Talk:

“When the second half of the season begins, there will be no rank reset. Players will retain their ranks and scores from the end of the first half.”

While there will be no rank reset, you must reclaim your rank for Marvel Rivals Season 1 Second Half by completing 10 matches in competitive mode. Note that the condition here is simply completing the matches and not necessarily winning them. Once you have completed these 10 initial matches, you will once again be eligible to receive the rank rewards for the second half of Marvel Rivals Season 1.

The Marvel Rivals Season 1 Second Half will feature a new costume as rank rewards for Gold and above. Moreover, each rank above Grandmaster will have its unique Crest of Honor, clearly indicating their prowess when Season 2 of the game starts.
