The Homo Avades boss is found as part of the “Thwart Zorba’s Plan” quest in the Regalith Grand Cathedral in Metaphor ReFantazio. The boss has a grotesque appearance, with several patches of skin missing and the internal organs on display. To make things worse, the boss is also giant, which adds to the fear (or gross) factor. Near its arms, it bears a platform that holds a beating heart. The Homo Avades is also a level 20 boss and poses a significant challenge.
Preparation for Homo Avades in Metaphor ReFantazio
As we stated earlier, Homo Avedes is a Level 20 boss. So, we recommend being over Level 16 at the very least if you wish to have a fighting chance. The boss follows right after the Zorba fight, so make sure to heal your HP and MP before you engage with the Homo Avades.
Homo Avades: Recommended Party Setup

Battle Strategy
The Homo Avedes gives plenty of visual queues directing your attention towards what you should be targeting. The first and most glaring is the beating heart. This is the boss’s weak point, and the part you need to destroy to kill it. His body is a frame of shells. Destroy the shells to bring him down and get the heart close to you for strong attacks.
As you chip away at the shell, a mob of assailants will reveal itself hiding inside. The assailants deal moderate damage but have low HP. Kill them in one turn to avoid taking damage. The boss will then heal the shell, and you will have to repeat the strategy.
Later on in the fight, the boss will throw hands with you (literally). He uses these hands to regenerate his shells, so prioritize the arms once they’re in the fray. The arms are weak to fire, so use the necessary elemental damage and get rid of them. Keep breaking the shell, dropping the heart, and damaging it to win the fight.
