Monster Hunter Wilds is the latest entry in the legendary and long-running Capcom series, all about hunting monsters. To hunt or tame various monsters, your arsenal consists of fourteen weapons, ranging from a greatsword to a hammer.

Moreover, you can enhance and upgrade your weapons and armor by crafting them using numerous materials found in the wild. Among these upgrade items, Keenbone is something you’ll require more often. Here’s how you can retrieve it.

Where To Find Keenbone

Keenbone is a rare crafting material that drops from high-rank monsters. Its sharp edges allow it to be forged to retain its strength while additionally holding a rarity of six.

Finding Keenbone is an arduous task as it’s rare. However, it can be easily earned as a reward from high-ranking field surveys throughout the lands. You can check the rewards of a field survey quest on the map by hovering your cursor over the quest, and it’ll reveal all the details you require before initiating it.

Unlike other bones in Monster Hunter Wilds, Keenbone is not discoverable through bone piles spread around the land. Additionally, you can earn it through optional quests of 4+ star rank.

How To Use Keenbone

After collecting enough Keenbone pieces, head to the base camp where Gemma, the blacksmith, is located. Interact with her, and it will give you a prompt to upgrade or craft new weapons or armor pieces.

Pick a weapon of your desire, and with the materials you have, along with Keenbone, you can initiate an upgrade process. It is completed instantly, and Gemma will, most importantly, hand you the upgraded arsenal.

The upgrade tree gradually unlocks as you continue strengthening your weapons and armor. Furthermore, the stats on the right side of your screen explain the improvements that your arsenal receives after the upgrade, along with the items required to execute it.
