Grand Escunite is one of the many endemic lives you can catch while fishing in Monster Hunter Wilds. You can find this type of fish somewhere around an underground lake in Areas 8 and 12 of Scarlet Forest. Wherever you spot an Escunite, there’s a good chance you’ll also find a Grand Escunite lurking nearby.
There is little purpose for catching this endemic life in the game. It is mainly used as an objective for a fishing quest given by Kanya in the Scarlet Forest. It’s a good little side quest you can do if you are tired of hunting large monsters in the wild. Completing this quest will reward you with a few useful items, including Guild Points.

Where To Find Grand Escunite in Monster Hunter Wilds
Grand Escunites are predominantly found in the Scarlet Forest region. They usually appear in secluded spots in the underground lake in Area 8. However, a few players claim they were able to catch one in Area 12.
You can find this endemic life quietly minding its own business and floating on the water. Once you spot one, pull up your fishing rod and use a Tentacle Jig Bait. As far as we know, you don’t need to wait for specific weather to catch a Grand Escunite in Monster Hunter Wilds. However, it is quite rare, so you will need to be patient when trying to hunt down this endemic life.
How To Use Grand Escunite in Monster Hunter Wilds
The Grand Escunite is required to complete the Razzle Dazzle side quest in the game. You will need to talk to Kanya at the Scarlet Forest Base Camp after catching the endemic life to claim your rewards. Afterward, you acquire the following items:
- 5x Jeweled Mullet Roe
- 3x Gunpowderfish Scale
- 2x Whetfish Fin
- 5x Sushifish Scale
- 300 Guild Points
Another thing to keep in mind is that this is the final quest you will be doing for Kanya. Whether you’re a fan of the fishing minigame or not, it serves as a fitting send-off before she has no more tasks for you.
