The Monster Hunter series puts its monsters front and center. These creatures are the stars of the show and are your main source of entertainment. Each creature poses a different challenge and demands a different strategy. They all bear different appearances, too, adding some much-needed personality to these creatures.

Monster Hunter Wilds seems to have its monster roster set for release but will see the roster expand over the course of various title updates throughout the game’s lifespan. Fans are excited to see what monsters will make their way to the game over the next few title updates, and we, too, have our own picks for what we’d like to see. In this article, we shall go over five monsters Capcom should introduce in Monster Hunter Wilds title updates.

1) Ahtal-Ka

Kicking off this list is Ahtal-Ka, an insect-like monster that is just as dangerous as it is visually terrifying. This insect monster is massive in size and bears a resemblance to a praying mantis. It boasts bright colors, much like most dangerous insects in the real world. As the final boss of Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, Ahtal-Ka uses its sharp claws to slice through enemies. It also relies on silk to toss beams at enemies. If push comes to shove, it can also use the silk to transform into Ahtal-Neset, its next powerful form. We’d love to see Ahtal-Ka in one of the title updates.

2) Malzeno

Malzeno is a fairly recent monster, having made his debut in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak. The monster quickly rose to be a fan favorite, largely due to its appearance, which combines goth with royal elegance. Having golden horns, this majestic Elder Dragon walks on all fours and bears black and red wings. This Elder Dragon, much like a royal commander in battle, commands Qurio to control and drain enemies of their life force while inflicting Bloodblight. While the Qurio drains you, Malzeno then quickly closes in to deal heavy damage with his powerful limbs. Malzeno is the perfect monster to bring in one of the title updates.

3) Lunagaron

Lunagaron is a terrifying monster, built like a wolf/lizard, that moves in fast and bears sharp claws. This Fanged Wyvern was first introduced in Monster Hunter Rise: Sunbreak but won fans over in no time due to his cool look. As far as his abilities are concerned, Lunagaron can easily scale up walls and other surfaces, largely in part due to his lizard-like features. Its teeth and claws are its main form of offense, meaning all fights against this creature are up close and personal. Lunagaron is sure to shake up the game if added as part of a title update.

4) Valstrax

Depending on who you ask, Valstrax may be the coolest Elder Dragon to ever exist in the series. Introduced in Monster Hunter Generations Ultimate, this monster boasts wings made of fire, a look unique among the Elder Dragons. As it soars through the skies, it lights up like an asteroid crashing down, making for a striking visual. The wings are for more than just flying and painting the sky, however, and are its main way of dealing offense. The dragon expels Dragon Element energy from its wings that hone in on you to deal damage. We’d love to see this monster in a Monster Hunter Wilds title update.

5) Tigrex

The final entry on this list is a monster from Monster Hunter Freedom 2 that won fans over through sheer predatory aggression. Tigrex bears a simple design, looking like a T-Rex armed with wings. The simple yet familiar design lures you into a place of comfort, and this is when the creature strikes. Tigrex can sprint at rapid speeds, closing distances quickly and never letting you go. Much like an actual T-Rex, Tigrex stays firm on the ground when hunting but will not shy away from using its wings if need be. The creature has no elements and relies purely on brute strength to tear you apart.
