5 Most Unbalanced Heroes in Marvel Rivals

Marvel Rivals seems to have some ‘unbalanced’ heroes on the S0 roster. Here are a few of them hoping they may get balanced.

Unbalanced Heroes in Marvel Rivals refer to an unofficial category that the players have made up. They usually fill this category with characters that are objectively a menace on the battlefield but still fairly easy to play as.

You would think that a hero who is “overpowered” will be just as difficult to master. I think Loki is a good example of this. He can convert a 6v6 game to an 8v6 because of his abilities and in general has amazing tricks at his disposal. However, you still can’t be a good God of Mischief if you haven’t practiced enough.

Unbalanced Heroes, on the other hand, can help you be great on the battlefield and take little to no practice. Of course, the list will be subjective and contain the writer’s opinions. You might not agree with the picks here. The list is also limited to the character roster available as of Season 0 because Season 1 is yet to come out. The unbalanced heroes for the list are as follows and are not ranked in any order:

  • Black Widow
  • Venom
  • Jeff the Land Shark
  • The Punisher
  • Iron Man

If you want further explanation behind why we consider them ‘unbalanced,’ scroll below to read our point of view on the discussion.

1. Black Widow

The only true “sniper” in the game is Black Widow. Sure, you can snipe anyone across the area with Hawkeye. Nobody is stopping you, except your aim. Clint has a certain projectile drop to his arrows when aiming at far distances. This is not the case with Black Widow at all. In fact, she is a hitscan hero. Moreover, Hawkeye has to aim in third-person. This is more difficult compared to a high-tech first-person scope.

Black Widow can also sit at the back and damage her enemies, which allows her to take fewer risks, making her the perfect pick for this list because there isn’t much you can do against an enemy shooting you from across the map.

2. Venom

As a frequent Venom insta-lock, I hate to admit it, but he is pretty easy to play as. What makes Venom even better is that he is buffed for S0. His whopping 800 HP is a result of this seasonal buff. He can swing to traverse quickly. His dive attack is the perfect way to start off an offense. If you have his Ultimate ready, you can turn the dive into the Ultimate Ability, and your perfect ambush attack is ready. On top of it all, if he starts taking fatal damage, you can simply activate the Symbiotic Resilience and gain a huge percentage of his HP back. Although it is temporary, it is enough to finish off an enemy who you are struggling with.

3. Jeff the Land Shark

Does he even need an introduction? When the game was first released and people didn’t know how to counter Jeff, they all thought he needed some nerfs. That’s not the case now that some time has passed. However, Jeff still appears to be a “broken character.” Unlike other strategists, who can only heal themselves using certain abilities, the Land Shark has a robust way of healing passively. He can just swim underground (or on walls).

Not only will he restore his lost HP this way, but he will also be way harder to hit, making him nearly invincible at this stage. I think he belongs in this unbalanced list of Marvel Rivals characters.

4. The Punisher

The Punisher is also an unbalanced hero in Marvel Rivals. He is a hitscan hero, which is a dangerous combination when you are using an Assault Rifle and Shotgun. He can deal plenty of damage in mid and short-range respectively using these weapons. He is not at all difficult to use. In fact, a lot of people starting off the game tend to stick to The Punisher. Despite his easy-to-use nature, this hero can be a menace even if the player behind the screen is not a seasoned hero shooter enthusiast.

5. Iron Man

Iron Man is the final boss for unbalanced heroes of Marvel Rivals. He is not impossible to kill, of course. All it takes is a mid or long-range hero with decent aim, or a good Iron Fist to take him down.

However, what makes him an absolute abomination of an enemy is that he can easily relocate himself using his free flight. Moreover, Iron Man doesn’t have a lot of Abilities. The ones that he has don’t require a long cooldown. You don’t need to have master aim to play as him because his basic attack is AoE in nature and can effectively take out an unsuspecting enemy.
