Borderlands may be a hotly anticipated title this year, but Mycopunk is the game set to take some of its steam ahead of release. Mycopunk is a co-op PvE shooter that follows in the footsteps of games such as Deep Rock Galactic and Borderlands. The game throws you into mission-based scenarios where you take on a fungal menace, all while armed with powerful weapons and abilities.
As cool as the weapons and abilities may be, they’re not the main reason why the game has been trending. It’s the co-op. The game is perfect for co-op, mostly due to its impressive class-based system. The game can be played solo and is a perfectly fine experience, but the synergy of the classes is what elevates the experience to the next level.
To make the most of the game’s four classes, Mycopunk allows you to take on missions as a group of four players. This means up to four players can play the game together. We shall discuss this in detail below.

As stated earlier, four players can play Mycopunk together. This is encouraged, too, as the game’s objectives and enemies are designed with four-player squads in mind. You’ll be facing large hordes of enemies, and this can seem like an insurmountable hurdle if you don’t have all four players.
Furthermore, having four players in a team helps form a synergy between the classes. Each player picks a class, and the classes can then interact with each other to make objectives easier. For instance, a Glider can provide support to a Bruiser, helping the tank push into the objective with ease. Or, should the tank be overwhelmed, the Glider can heal him, too. There are a lot of possibilities, and having four players lets you experience them all.
You don’t have to have a full lobby of four players to queue up for the game, however. Mycopunk has a matchmaking system that automatically fills in the player slots whenever you begin a mission. This means if you queue up for the game solo, the game will automatically fill in the slot for the remaining three, letting you play the game with a four-player squad.
