NBA 2K25 has received a minor patch for its old-gen version, so if you’re playing on a PS4 or Xbox One, here’s what you should know.
NBA 2K25 has two different versions depending on your platform. The New Gen version is available on PC, PlayStation 5, and Xbox Series X|S while the Old Gen version is for PlayStation 4 and Xbox One. 2K recently released a massive 2.0 update for the New Gen version just before the release of Season 2. This update changed or fixed multiple issues with the game, especially those that players had complained about.
Meanwhile, the Old Gen version has got a newer, much smaller update, that adds some minor bug fixes. Most importantly, you’ll get rewarded for Season 1 events and also get a “Season 1 Winners” shirt. There’s also a unique event for today (October 21, 2024) that will get you 2X REP.

Here are the changes you’ll find in NBA 2K25’s PS4 and Xbox One version as part of the latest update:
Season 1 Winners Announcement
- REP bonuses have been applied to eligible RISE players who contributed in Season 1 events (Basketball Godz, Blackout, Strikeout).
- All eligible players receive the same REP bonus, but progression varies based on REP tier.
- A “Season 1 Winners” shirt will be available in inventory, indicating REP bonus has been received.
October 21 Event
- Players must wear the “Season 1 Winners” shirt during the October 21 RISE-exclusive event to earn 2X REP.
Bug Fixes
- Added stability fixes.
- Added game performance improvements.
