The Thieves Guild in Oblivion Remastered has been a part of Tamriel for centuries and exists to do just one thing—steal. The quests given by the guild involve sneaking through dangerous locations and taking part in high-stakes theft. But before you can get to the harder stuff, you have to grind and work your way through the lower ranks of the guild. The Independent Thievery quest outlines your rise through the ranks of the Thieves Guild

The Independent Thievery quest is surprisingly difficult, as it gives you very little direction or guidance. This quest is a necessary step in your initiation as a thief in the guild and offers a glimpse of what’s to come later on with the Thieves Guild. In this guide, we will go over the Independent Thievery quest in Oblivion Remastered.

How To Complete Independent Thievery in Oblivion Remastered

You begin Independent Thievery by talking to Armand Christophe in the Colovian Highlands, in front of the Abandoned Shack. Armand wants you to contribute more to the guild by selling items to Ongar. Contributing to the guild will make you eligible for higher-ranking jobs. Finish the conversation, and Independent Thievery will be added to your quest log.

The Independent Thievery side quest spans the entire duration of your time with the guild. The more Gold you contribute, the more progress you’ll make, and the more jobs you’ll unlock. To get the required valuables, we recommend stealing from the market. Acquire goods and sell them to Ongar to make your contributions.
