For more than five years, fans have been anticipating the release of rapper Playboi Carti’s most recent album, I Am Music. The album finally became available on streaming platforms throughout the world on March 14. Kai Cenat, a Twitch streamer, was there at every stage, broadcasting all night long, waiting for the album to be released. Carti spoke briefly with Cenat over the phone regarding Kick streamer Adin Ross during his livestream.

For context, the rapper made his debut livestream appearance on Ross’ channel, and his little six-minute cameo went viral. Carti explained to Kai on March 14, 2025, why he was on Adin’s stream for such a short time. He stated:

“(‘Would you ever go on another stream?’, asked Kai) Hell yeah, I got to that Adin Ross sh*t… I ain’t like that. It wasn’t even posed to be like that… I wish that s**t wasn’t like that. I’m not even negative for real like..”

According to Carti, Adin wasn’t the kind of person he would hang out with. He added:

“It ain’t even that bruh, he just not my typa ni**a so it’s gon’ be awkward, you feel me? And it’s cool…”

The rapper praised Adin regardless of the circumstances and stated that he had no ill will against the streamer.

Playboi Carti’s Livestream With Adin Ross

The first and only time Carti appeared in person on Adin Ross’ Kick stream was in February 2024. Following a performance at a concert, the streamer went backstage to greet the masked rapper. Following this, Ross acknowledged that “500,000 people were watching” and thanked Carti for performing; the rapper expressed his love using a few words.

Adin’s efforts to bridge the gaps and Carti’s hesitation to strike up a conversation were observed by many. Ross gave the rapper a duffle bag full of cash, and the rapper quickly departed.

By suggesting that he had given Carti $2 million in cash and a Ferrari to guarantee his participation, Adin Ross had advertised the stream. But the streamer denied paying the full amount in a later discussion with 21 Savage.
