Let’s talk about what notable features we think a potential GTA 6 Online might have based on community predictions and speculations.

With Rockstar Games teasing its next big game release, GTA 6, a lot of fans are wondering if it will include an online game mode. With how successful GTA 5 Online is, there is a big chance that its sequel will also have its own multiplayer world. However, Rockstar is yet to really give us any hints of what the game offers, so I wouldn’t hold my breath just yet.
But how can they possibly make GTA 6 Online bigger than GTA 5 Online? Will it even be bigger, or will they follow the same formula that worked on the previous installment? With what the publisher is up to these days, we can do a bit of prediction and speculation on what a potential GTA 6 Online might offer.
Keep in mind that the information below is purely based on speculation and is based on the writer’s opinions, so take it with a grain of salt.

What Features Could Be Included in GTA 6 Online

Here are a few things that we think could be implemented in GTA 6:
Roleplay Dedicated Server Support
The Grand Theft Auto franchise is no stranger to community mods and roleplay servers. I remember playing a mod for GTA San Andreas where your goal is to survive a zombie apocalypse with your friends, online or via LAN.
Now, GTA 5 also gets the same treatment, but much better. Roleplay mods like FiveM allow players to host their own third-party servers where they can craft their own experiences. They can then share these with the community.
While Rockstar Games has a rocky relationship with some of the roleplay mods, several leaks have surfaced about the publisher developing their own roleplayer mod called “Project ROME.” Details for this mod are yet to be revealed publicly. However, it is speculated to be a new and improved version of what third-party roleplay mods for GTA 5 can offer, but made for GTA 6.

Follow Roblox and Fortnite in the User Generated Content (UGC) Trend
With that said, various sources claim that Rockstar Games is also collaborating with various creators from games like Fortnite and Roblox, two of the biggest UGC platforms in the gaming space.
Rockstar Games is reportedly exploring user-generated content for GTA VI, similar to Roblox and Fortnite.

This means they might be testing the waters now and may be adding UGCs to GTA 6. Perhaps the game would offer similar features to Roblox and Fortnite that allow players to share and maybe even monetize the experiences they create.

Some Mechanics and Content From GTA 5

Given how expansive GTA 5 is, Rockstar Games might be adding some of its features and content to GTA 6 as a way to maintain a sense of consistency. One example would be the vehicles in the game. You can’t have a game called Grand Theft Auto without a massive pool of vehicles. Considering how the two games share the same universe, we can speculate that the cars you see in GTA 5 Online will most likely be available in the sequel.
In terms of gameplay mechanics, heists and contact missions are already a big part of the franchise’s identity. These game modes will likely be in GTA 6 too. Of course, you can’t have a role-playing game without in-depth character customization. It’s something GTA 5 Online has and will probably be in the next title, but with more features and improvements.
Slowly Expanding Map and Content

Taking inspiration from GTA 5 Online, again, Rockstar Games would probably also add more content in GTA 6 Online over time. We can see this as a strategic move to extend the lifespan of the game and add more replay value. From new maps, missions, properties, or weapons, the possibilities are endless for a game that’s this massive.
This should keep the players coming back for more as there will be new content to explore. We might even see Rockstar add new islands in the game that are only accessible via aircraft. Similar to Cayo Perico. With fresh new content added consistently, it might even surpass GTA 5 Online’s lifespan, which is currently 12 years old.
