1) Unown
Unown is not just rare; it also has multiple forms, each resembling a letter or symbol. Finding one in the wild is already difficult, but completing the full collection is almost impossible.
Unlike many other Pokemon, Unown does not evolve and cannot be hatched. There is no special trick to make them appear more often either. During some events, certain letters of Unown become more common, but this only helps a little. If you are serious about collecting all forms, you need to keep an eye out for special spawns and be patient.
2) Larvesta
This one is a Bug/Fire-type Pokemon that eventually evolves into Volcarona, a powerful battle option. However, getting a Larvesta is not easy.
You can’t find it in the wild — it’s only available from 5km, 10km, or 12km eggs, which aren’t exactly easy to come by. And even if you do get one of those eggs, there’s no guarantee Larvesta will hatch from it. But the struggle doesn’t stop there. Evolving it into Volcarona takes a whopping 400 candies, meaning you’ll be walking, hatching, and grinding for a long time. It’s definitely a commitment, but for Volcarona fans, it’s worth the effort!
3) Pikachu Libre
It is a unique costumed version of Pikachu that wears a luchador wrestling outfit. It is a fan favorite, but most players never get the chance to catch one.
Pikachu Libre isn’t just any Pikachu — it’s a special reward you can only get through the GO Battle League. But here’s the catch: you have to reach the highest rank to unlock it. That means going up against some of the toughest trainers out there. The competition is intense, so you’ll need solid battle strategies, a strong team, and plenty of dedication to rack up those wins. It’s not an easy road, but if you pull it off, you’ll have one of the rarest Pikachu variations in the game!
4) Kecleon
It is a Normal-type Pokemon with a unique ability that makes it hard to spot. Unlike other Pokemon, you cannot see it on the map or encounter it randomly.
Kecleon doesn’t just pop up like other Pokemon — it prefers to stay hidden on PokeStops. To find one, you’ll have to tap on different PokeStops and hope it’s there. If you’re lucky enough to spot it, you’ll need to interact with it first to make it appear on the map before you can catch it. The whole process takes time, and Kecleon is pretty rare, even if you’re checking a lot of PokeStops. Some events make it a little easier to find, but overall, it’s one of the toughest Pokemon to track down.
5) Sinnoh’s Lake Guardians (Azelf, Mesprit, Uxie)
Azelf, Mesprit, and Uxie are Legendary Pokemon known as the Lake Guardians. Unlike most Legendary Pokemon, these three can sometimes appear in the wild, but that does not mean they are easy to catch.
These Pokemon have very low wild spawn rates. Random encounters are almost nonexistent. They are also region-locked. This means you can only find one based on your location.

- Mesprit is in Europe.
- Uxie is in Asia.
To get all three, you need trades or special raid events. Finding one in the wild is extremely rare. Only a lucky few experience it.
