The whole premise of Revenge of the Savage Planet is that you are a former employee of a corporation that exploits you and leaves you stranded in space. On your journey to seek revenge against your former employer, you need to do whatever it takes to survive on the different hostile planets you explore. That often means completing favors for various characters that you meet. One of these is a quest named Crash Test Dummy.
In this guide, we will explain how you can unlock this quest and then detail exactly what you need to do to finish the Crash Test Dummy quest in Revenge of the Savage Planet.
How To Access the Crash Test Dummy Quest in Revenge of the Savage Planet
This is not a mission in the base game. You need to have the D.I.A.P.E.R. Program DLC installed to unlock and play this particular quest. Also, you will not receive this quest immediately. One of the unlock requirements is that you must complete at least one of the first Shama Lama missions beforehand. Once you complete one of these missions, you can head back to the Habitat to get the Crash Test Dummy quest in Revenge of the Savage Planet.

How To Complete the Crash Test Dummy Quest
When you receive the quest, you will be given a special suit upgrade. Activate this upgrade using the upgrades menu. You are also free to deactivate the upgrade at any time. When active, the upgrade drastically reduces your HP, regardless of how many Orange Goo you have collected. The suit upgrade also disables the skill that negates fall damage. These do not seem like upgrades, but rather downgrades. That is because the Shama Lama wants you to die repeatedly to test the suit upgrade’s limitations.
Specifically, Shama Lama will ask you to die in four unique ways. Here are the ways in which you need to perish with the suit upgrade activated:
- High-speed landing: To achieve this, find a high enough location and jump from the top. The reduced HP and full fall damage from the suit upgrade should kill you.
- Extreme heat: To die from heat, jump into lava, or perish while facing enemies with fire-based attacks.
- High-voltage current: You need to die from electrocution while wearing the suit upgrade. To achieve this, come into contact with electrified mushrooms or allow underwater jellyfish to electrocute you.
- Flash solidification: For this, you need to be frozen at the moment the killing blow lands. This can be complicated. The best method is to let a plant freeze you while another enemy is nearby. You must perfectly time the freeze, as you remain frozen for only five seconds. The enemy has to attack and kill you within this short window.
Completing all four of these deaths will complete the Crash Test Dummy quest in Revenge of the Savage Planet. There is no specific reward from this quest. However, you will progress further in completing the D.I.A.P.E.R. Program.
