In Roadcraft, progress depends on smart logistics as much as driving skill. You will often operate multiple vehicles like cranes, loaders, flatbeds, and more, to complete tasks spread across wide zones. Without knowing how to switch between them properly, you might find yourself stranded on foot or backtracking through muddy terrain.

Instead of wasting time relocating vehicles you left behind, it’s better to learn the right way to swap between machines and plan ahead. This guide walks you through the process step by step, so you can keep your fleet working efficiently and avoid unnecessary detours.

Start With the Map Screen

First, bring up your map. It’s your control centre for just about everything. Look at the top tabs — there’s one labelled Vehicles. Click it. This list shows every truck, loader, or crane you have unlocked. It also displays where each one was last used. Your current ride shows up with a green marker. Others are shown with icons based on type.

Choose What You Need Next

Clicking on a vehicle gives you two choices: Focus Camera or Enter Vehicle. The first option just shows you where that truck is sitting. The second lets you hop into it directly. Once you hit Enter Vehicle, you will take over from wherever that vehicle is parked. You don’t warp across the map. Your view just switches to that spot, and you start controlling that machine right there. It stays where you last left it.

Avoid Leaving Trucks in Bad Spots

Here’s where planning helps. If you ditch your crane in the middle of nowhere, don’t expect a fast fix later. Roadcraft remembers exactly where you parked it — including if that’s halfway sunk in a river. Whenever you are wrapping up a task or leaving a vehicle behind, park it in a smart place, more like a flat, dry place where you can reach it again without hassle.

Move More Than One Truck at a Time

Need multiple machines far from base? Use the winch system to tow another vehicle. That way, you cut down on return trips. For example, you can tow a fuel carrier while you are driving your flatbed. Later, just switch between the two. It saves you time, and it keeps your machines together, especially during long-distance hauls.

Resetting Is Possible, But Not a Shortcut

There’s a reset option if a truck gets stuck or flipped. It doesn’t teleport the vehicle to you, though. It sends it to a garage or designated reset zone. This can be helpful in some cases, but it won’t bring the truck to your feet. You will still need to work out how to get it where you need it.
