Focus Entertainment’s latest construction simulator, Roadcraft, offers a variety of ways for players to approach their construction tasks. The game’s sandbox features all kinds of heavy-duty vehicles, ranging from cargo trucks to gantry cranes and dusty rollers. Some of the dynamic objectives include rebuilding shorelines and restoring electricity in disaster-struck communities.

However, if you’re having trouble completing them, it could be because you lack the necessary upgrades.

Upgrading your heavy-duty vehicles has a lot of perks. They stay in your inventory forever, offer improved engine performance, speed, and carry capacity, and even let you share them with your friends during online co-op.

To get upgrades, first you need to have enough resources. Make sure to complete tasks to earn money and experience. Once completed, open your map and look for blue areas marked within your base. This is the location of the garage. Head over to the Shop from the vehicle menu or the garage to find all your upgrades and new vehicles.

Upgraded versions of your current vehicles can be purchased from there and will always have better performance as well as extra features like cranes and winches. They can also be used by your friends in co-op without them owning the upgraded version. Therefore, it is important to know early on in Roadcraft how to upgrade vehicles.

Moreover, once you have purchased the upgrades, you can sell the old vehicles for some extra cash. The older versions of the vehicles are rendered obsolete after purchasing the upgraded ones.

Lastly, it’s better to upgrade your heavy-duty vehicles in advance than to get stuck in the middle of nowhere. Upgraded vehicles will cut down on the time required to complete tasks, making it much easier to focus on side objectives. Keep an eye on the Shop and check regularly for upgrades.
