Age of Honor is a PvP melee fighting game on Roblox. The relatively new game has spiked in popularity due to its robust combat mechanics, parry system, and visuals. It is still in beta but has over a million views on the Roblox platform.

This beginner’s guide will cover the basics of Age of Honor and explain how to master the combat. We will also touch on the marketplace and the Traits system.

How To Play Age of Honor

At its core, Age of Honor is a combat game. Players battle against each other in the arena and gain points for kills. You have the option to play with different weapons and unlock traits that give you passive buffs. As you fight, you will fill up your Rage and Tempo meters. But before we get into combos, let’s look at the controls for the basic combat skills.

Age of Honor: Basic Combat Controls

  • Shift Lock: Ctrl Key
  • Sprint: Shift
  • Attack: Mouse 1
  • Kick: C
  • Parry: F (Does not block Kicks)
  • Dodge/Dash: Q and the direction Key
  • Special Attack: R
  • Tempo Attack: T
  • Execute: X
  • Emotes: B
  • Market Recall: M
  • Turn off all GUI: G

You will be using the default WASD keys to control your character. Dodging to the sides gives invulnerability. If you choose to dash forward, you can still get hit. Parrying is especially important to block damage. A normal parry gives off orange sparks and pushes you back. A perfect parry sends blue sparks and lets you instantly counterattack while also dealing 10% damage to the opponent. If you kick someone in the back, it can daze them, allowing you to riposte and deal massive damage. You can also daze enemies by hitting them into a wall.

Master the basics before getting into combos and other combat mechanics.

Tempo and Rage Meters

There are two Tempo and Rage meters in Age of Honor at the bottom of the screen. The longer bar on top is the Tempo Meter, which fills up the more you successfully parry and deal damage using basic attacks. Once the bar is full, it will turn yellow and allow you to use the Tempo Attack. This varies from weapon to weapon and can deal significant damage to your opponents.

The lower bar is Rage. This fills up the more you perform combat-related actions (damage, dash, parry, etc.). This gives you a 15% damage buff. However, the Rage meter will deplete if you are not doing any combat actions.

Managing the Tempo and Rage meters in Age of Honor is essential to dealing damage to your opponents.

Combos and Other Combat Mechanics in Age of Honor

By chaining certain attacks and actions, you can perform combos. Here is a list of the combos you can do in Age of Honor:

  • Jump Attack: Jump + Attack
  • Jump Kick: Jump + Kick
  • Sprint Attack: Shift(WASD) + Attack
  • Sprint Kick: Shift (WASD) + Kick
  • Clash: Activates when two players attack each other at the same time
  • Perfect Clash: A Clash when the Tempo Bar is full
  • Feint: You can feint to fool enemies. Use Dash to cancel the attack at the last moment.

Players can choose to change weapons and roll for traits by going to the Market. You can go to the market by pressing the M key. In this area, you will find several weapons lying around that can be picked up. Picking up a different weapon will teleport you back to the battlegrounds. Each weapon has a different fighting style and special attack, so beginners should try them out to find one that fits their playstyle.

Traits are passive buffs you can get that will help you fight. You can roll for traits using coins you get by defeating enemies. Spending Robux can also get Blessed Traits. Here are the Trait Tiers and roll chances:

  • Common: 54.89%
  • Rare: 35%
  • Legendary: 10%
  • Mythical: 0.1%
  • Celestial: 0.005%

There is a pity system in Age of Honor that guarantees you get a high-tier trait after 50 rolls.
